Sakura Blossoms
The sun was shimmering over Tokyo as four people were happily enjoying their selves at the Akabeko. “I don’t think I could eat another bite!” Yahiko said, stretching. Karou sneered. “I’m surprised, you almost ate the whole place! You pig!” Yahiko glared at Karou. “What was that ugly?” Karou glared back. “Who you calling ugly, pig?” Karou and Yahiko started beating each other with their wooden swords. Sano and Kenshin just watched, Kenshin let out an ‘oro!’ before saying something. “Come on you guys, let’s start going.” Karou and Yahiko still glared at one another as they started to walk home. Sano had his usual fish bone in his mouth. Kenshin was his happy self, like he was always.
They started walking home, Yahiko and Karou still throwing dirty looks at one another, when they heard voices. “Hold it, you wench!” Kenshin and the other whipped around, they saw a girl, which looked about 18 running from two scruffy looking guys. She had gleaming black hair that was waist length. She had a blue band tied around her head, like Sano. She was wearing a white blouse and a pair of red hakama. (Like what Kikyo and Kaede where). Kenshin had noticed the sword at her side. The girl was trapped; she had reached a dead end. She turned around and smiled at the two guys. “If you want a fight, come and get it.” She said with a sweet voice. One of the guys ran up to her. The girl just dodged the attack and kicked him in the back. She turned to the other guy. “Either come and get this over with, or I’ll let you leave peacefully.” She said with a bored tone. The man looked angry. “Shut up!” He cried and running towards her, before he could even punch, she had knocked him out. The girl sighed. “Such a waste of time.” She noticed Kenshin and the others. “Hello,” She said with a smiled. Kenshin smiled back. “Sorry, we couldn’t help noticing the fight. You’re not bad at fighting.” The girl’s smile got wider. “Why thank you, my I please know the name of the kind man I am speaking with?” She asked in a polite tone. “Of course, my name is Himura Kenshin.” The girl put a finger to her forehead. “Hmm,” She said out loud. “I know I’ve heard your name somewhere.” She suddenly smacked her head. “Of course! You’re the legendary Battousai, the man slayer aren’t you?” Kenshin smiled. “This one has changed to a wanderer now, but stays at the Kamiya dojo owned by miss Karou here.” Kenshin pointed to Karou. “Oh, how rude of me!” The girl said. “Not to properly introduce myself, my name’s Shizuku.” She said with a little bow. Shizuku finished her bow then looked over at Sano. “Hey! You’re Zanza, the street fighter, aren’t you?” Sano turned his head. “Use too, I also stay at the dojo.” Shizuku nodded, acting like she understood. She walked closer to Sano and looked at his face. “I never knew Zanza was so cute!” She winked at him. “ I love that hair style!” A blush crept on Sano’s face, but then he turned around, smirking at Karou. “See? Some people actually like my hair style!” Karou just let out a ‘hmph’ Shizuku giggled. “Well I guess I better be off, like Kenshin here, I am also a wanderer!” She turned around and started to walk when Karou yelled. “Stop!” Shizuku turned around. “Yes?” Karou smiled. “You must be tired from traveling. Why don’t you come and stay with us?” Shizuku frowned. “Oh, I don’t know..” Karou grinned. “It’s alright if another person lives there! There’s enough room!” Shizuku smiled. “Alright, I’ll stay but first, can I please know who he is?” She asked, pointing to Yahiko, who was drooling and staring at her. Yahiko all of a sudden stood up straight and said. “I’m Yahiko!” Shizuku smiled. “Nice to meet you.” Sano grinned at Yahiko and starting singing. “Yahiko has a crush!” In a taunting voice. Yahiko chased Sano all the way home.
“Shizuku, why do you have that sword when you do martial arts?” They all had dinner and were sitting outside, Shizuku turned to Kenshin. “Well I carry a sword to protect myself, but I also do martial arts.” Kenshin smiled. “I see.” Karou was grinning. “I’m so glad you stayed with us!” Shizuku smiled back. “Me too, especially with someone as cute as him.” She said pointing to Sano. Sano turned pink. For some reason, he felt a weird emotion towards her…
Everyone was in bed, except Shizuku, she was outside, leaning on a tree. “Everything set?” A deep voice asked. Shizuku smiled. “Yes,”

“I’M GOING TO KILL YOU YAHIKO!” Shizuku sprang to life as she heard Karou’s screaming. She quickly got dressed and went down the hall to see what she Karou was screaming about. She saw Karou chasing Yahiko with a shinai. Kenshin and Sano were walking down the hall, still rubbing their eyes. “What’s all the noise?” Kenshin said, yawning. “THIS BRAT PUT FROGS IN MY CLOTHES!” Karou said, with such a mad face, that Shizuku shivered. Shizuku, just like Sano and Kenshin, tried to hold back from laughing. Yahiko smiled. “You guys should have been there! It was so funny!” Karou growled and started to chase him again. Shizuku burst out laughing, so did Sano. Kenshin just softly chuckled.
After an hour, Karou had finally got tired of chasing Yahiko. Everybody sat down and had breakfast. Yahiko had two bumps on his head but was still proud of his success. Karou was taking her mad anger on everyone. Sano got so tired of her attitude that he went to the Akabeko to eat lunch, which again, he did not pay for.
“Show me what you got.” Everyone was now sitting in the dojo and Karou had picked up a shinai and was talking to Shizuku. “Excuse me?” Shizuku asked in a polite tone. Karou smiled. “I want to see how good you are.” She handed Shizuku a shinai, which she took. Shizuku stood up and smiled. “Alright, you want me to go easy on you?” Karou smiled again. “No, go your hardest.” Shizuku sighed. “Alright, you asked for it.” Karou started to run towards Shizuku, she was about to attack, Shizuku dodged before Karou could even blink. Yahiko gasped, Sano and Kenshin just stared. Shizuku was now behind Karou, she hit her on the back. Karou fell forward. “You are good.” She said, breathing fast. Shizuku smiled. “Thank you, you want to stop?” Karou stood up and shook her head. “I’m just getting started.” Karou again started running towards Karou, Shizuku again was gone in a flash. She was behind Karou again, who now had turned around, Shizuku smiled and had hit Karou across the chest, and she leaned and held her chest, breathing very fast. “You are very good.” She wheezed. Shizuku helped her stand up. “Thanks.” Yahiko and Sano were staring, mouths wide open. Shizuku came and closed Sano’s. “You know.” Shizuku said. “I would like to fight you sometime, people say that you are the best fighter around.” Sano turned away, blushing slightly. “Maybe some other time.” He said. Shizuku winked. “Looking forward to it!”
Everyone was asleep, except Shizuku, she was outside leaning on the same tree. “The plan is going exactly as planned.” She said with a smiled. “Great.” Said the same cold voice. Shizuku heard footsteps and said, “Go,” To the voice. She sat down and saw Sano come outside. “Hey,” He said looking at her. “Hey,” Shizuku said back. “What are you doing outside?” Sano asked, sitting next to her. “I couldn’t go to sleep.” Shizuku said, shrugging. “What about you?” She asked. “Couldn’t either.” He said, with the wind blowing through her hair. “So, how good is Kenshin anyways?” Shizuku asked, staring at Sano. Sano turned to her. “He’s hard to describe, he’s really nice and caring when he’s not battousai, but when he is, wow, he’s like another person.” He said, leaning on a back of a tree. Shizuku nodded. “Wow, sounds like quite a guy, I should fight him some time.” She said, sighing. Sano chuckled. “You’ll have a hell of a fight, believe me.” Shizuku nodded. “Well, I’ve been looking for a fight like that, and ours well probably be cool too.” She said smiling. Sano blushed. Shizuku stood up, walked over to Sano, gave a quick peck on his cheek and started to head inside. “Well I’m tired now, see you in the morning!” With that, she left with Sano as red as a beet. “Good job Yahiko!” Everyone was in the hall. Yahiko and Karou where practicing while Shizuku was helping out. She kept saying “Good job!” or “That’s it!” And whenever she came and touched Yahiko to tell him what to do, he went pink.
“Time to eat!” Kenshin came and handed everyone sushi. Sano looked at it as if it was alive. Kenshin went over and whispered to him. “Karou didn’t make it so it’s safe.” Sano smiled and started to wolf it down. Shizuku giggled while Karou glared at Kenshin. Kenshin hoped she didn’t hear him. “Hey Shizuku,” Sano walked slowly over towards Shizuku. “Hey Sano.” She said with a smile. Sano smiled back. “Hey you know you wanted to fight?” Shizuku jumped up. “Yeah?” She said happily. “Well let’s go.” Sano said. Shizuku smiled. “Yay!” Sano went outside. “I think we should do it outside, okay?” Shizuku nodded and followed. Soon Kenshin, Karou and Yahiko were outside too. “Alright, you ready?” Sano asked, cracking he knuckles. “Yup, are you? I’m not going easy, not even on someone as cute as you.” Sano blushed slightly. “Yeah, I’m ready.” Shizuku smiled. “Let’s do this then.” Sano started to run towards Shizuku, hands clenched. He tried to punch her, she vanished, in a blink. She was at his side; she kicked him in the stomach that made him lean forward. He straightened up and started to run again. Yahiko gasped, before Sano could even punch, Shizuku was behind him. Sano quickly turned around just to get another blow from her. This time it was a punch in the stomach. Sano fell down, he was breathing very fast. “You are good.” He said, staggering to get back up. Shizuku smiled. Sano got up and started running, again Shizuku vanished, but Sano knew this time, when Shizuku appeared behind him, he turned and kicked her right in the stomach. Shizuku fell down and sat up, also breathing fast. “Nice one.” She said, getting up and smiling. This time she ran forward, she tried punching which Sano dogded. All of a sudden, Shizuku bent down and did a sweep kick, making Sano fall to the ground. “Didn’t see that coming.” He said getting up slowly. Shizuku ran again and said. “Let’s finish this!” Shizuku dogded a punch and a kick, so did Sano. Again, Shizuku vanished. Sano didn’t know where she went but didn’t put his guard down, he turned around fast, Shizuku was right under him, she let out a punch right into his jaw. Sano fell on the ground, and didn’t get back up. Shizuku smiled, she had known who had won.
“Oh, I’m so sorry!” Sano was now inside the dojo with Kenshin and the others. Megumi had come over and was treating his wounds. Sano had 2 big bruises on his chest and side. Shizuku was now putting water on one of Sano’s bruises. Sano blushed. “It’s ok, happens all the time.” Megumi finished treating one of Sano’s bruises. “Stop worrying Shizuku, he’ll live, he always makes a big deal about these things.” Sano growled. “You want to make something out of it vixen?” Megumi glared at him. “How dare you talk that way to me!” Both were now standing up. “I can talk to you however I want!” Sano snapped back. Megumi rolled her eyes and got all he supplies back together. “Fine! I’m leaving, it was nice meeting you Shizuku.” She said before leaving. Shizuku looked at Sano. “Do you always fight with her?” Sano glared at her. “And why do you care?” He snarled. Shizuku glared. “Sorry for asking! And you know what? I take back what I said about beating you up! I’m glad I did! Maybe it will teach you some manners!” She said hotly and walked out of the room. She ran back and snapped at him. “Oh yeah! I take back that kiss!” She left. Sano slapped his head. “What have I done?” He said, shaking his head. “I was gonna ask her something!”
Sano paced back and forth down the hall. ‘Should I do this?’ He asked himself. ‘I don’t know.’ Sano continued to pace. ‘What if she is still mad at me?’ He heard a door slide, he froze, and it was Shizuku. “May I ask why you are pacing back and forth in front of my door?” She asked with a smile. “Well um, I.” Sano said while blushing.“Yes?” Shizuku and Sano were standing facing eachother. Sano was a deep crimson now. “I uh, wanted to ask you something!” He said, staring at his feet. Shizuku giggled. “And that is?” Sano got even more red. “Well uh,” Shizuku sighed. “Sano, I don’t have all day for this.” Sano kept staring at his feet. “Okay okay, I was wondering,” Sano took a deep breath. “If you wanted…to..um…go…on…a…date…with….me..” Sano was so red, he could feel the heat rising from him. Shizuku giggled and was a little pink. “That’s what you wanted ask? Well alright then, my answer is yes, yes I’ll go out with you.” Sano’s heart leapt. “Oh and Shizuku, I’m sorry about yesterday.” Shizuku smiled. “It’s ok, look I’ll see you tonight, is that ok?” Sano nodded and went to breakfast. “Sano, why are you so red?” Yahiko asked while he wolfed down his food. “Nothing,” Sano said. Yahiko grinned. “Its Shizuku, isn’t it? Did you get farther with her?” All Yahiko got for a response was a punch to the head. “Thought so,” Yahiko said, rubbing his bump. Shizuku entered and smiled. “Good morning everyone.” Kenshin and Karou smiled. “Morning, sleep well?” Shizuku nodded. “Oh yes very well.” She smiled at Sano who turned pink. “Kenshin.” Karou was now looking towards him. “Oro?” Kenshin asked. “I need you to get some supplies, we need salt and soy sauce.” Kenshin let out another “Oro.” Before saying. “Alright, I’ll do it after breakfast.”
Kenshin had left and Yahiko and Karou were practicing. Sano was chewing on his usual fish bone and Shizuku was watching Yahiko and Karou, smiling. “I think we should take a break.” Karou said, breathing fast. Yahiko nodded. “I’ll go get some water.” Yahiko rushed to the well. “He’s pretty good, isn’t he?” Shizuku said to Karou. Karou nodded. “Yeah, guess so, for a kid like him, he has a big heart. I’m surprised, both his parents where killed.” Shizuku nodded, but had a look of sorrow on her face. Karou stared. “What’s wrong?” Shizuku shook her head. “Nothing.” Sano was also looking at her.
“I’m back!” Kenshin walked back with salt and soy sauce. Karou clapped her hands. “Yes! Thank you Kenshin!” Kenshin smiled. “You’re welcome miss Karou.” “It’s almost night time.” Shizuku said, looking at Sano, who nodded. Everyone was not sitting outside, watching the sun go down. “It’s so pretty.” Karou said, watching in amazement. Shizuku nodded. The stars crawled into the sky and Shizuku stood up. “I need to go somewhere for a while.” Kenshin, Karou, and Yahiko stared. “You ok?” Shizuku smiled and nodded. “Just need a walk,” Sano now stood up too. “Why don’t I go with you?” Shizuku nodded. “Good idea, we’ll see you guys in the morning!” The two left while Kenshin and the others stared. “What was that all about?” Kenshin asked. Karou sighed. “Don’t you get it Kenshin, they want some alone time.” Kenshin smiled. “Oh!” Yahiko grinned. “I knew something was going on!”
“Do you think they suspect something?” Shizuku asked, while she and Sano walked. “I hope not.” He said. Shizuku giggled, Sano laughed. “Where do you want to go?” Sano asked. Shizuku shrugged. “Akabeko?” Sano said. Shizuku laughed. “And make me pay for it right?” Sano took that as a yes. The two went to the Akabeko, they started to chat away as they ate. Sano never felt this way towards a girl, she was so easy to talk to, Sano liked it. After they ate, (and Shizuku paid the bill) they went for a walk. Without looking at the ground, Sano stepped into a puddle, splashing water everywhere on Shizuku. (I know this idea is from the quiz, but I like it so much! ^^) Sano blushed and kept saying “Sorry.” While tried to dry her off. Shizuku just giggled and splashed water at him. Soon the two were having a water fight, each splashing each other. After a while the two plopped on the grass, to tired to move. They both were laughing, not seeming to have a care in the world. “I’ve never had fun like that.” Sano said, breathing fast. Shizuku nodded. “Yeah, me too.” Sano didn’t notice, but Shizuku was closer to him. Sano was blushing but thankfully the darkness covered it. Shizuku was now right next to him, facing him. “Thank you for such a fun time Sano.” Sano’s eyes widened, there lips met and locked for a while, Sano suddenly closed his eyes, he liked this feeling. This fluttering, fluffy feeling inside of him, it felt wonderful. There lips finally broke off. Both of them blushing, and smiling. Shizuku stood up. “I think we should head back.” Sano nodded and stood up. Both of them headed back.
“How is it going?” The dark, cold voice asked, behind the same tree. Shizuku smiled. “Perfect and now someone has fallen in love with me.” The cold voice laughed. “Wonderful, there will be pain!” Shizuku laughed too, with the same cold, dark laugh.
“Where did she go?” Yahiko was now sitting next to Kenshin, who was doing the laundry. Kenshin looked at Yahiko. “Is something a matter Yahiko?” Yahiko nodded. “Yeah, since this morning, Shizuku has been gone.” Kenshin started to wash the clothes. “That is strange, that it is.” Yahiko then grinned. “I wonder where Sano and Shizuku went..hehe..” Sano came and pushed Yahiko to the ground. “What’s that’s that supposed to mean punk?” Yahiko growled. “Nothing! Rooster head!” Sano glared at him. Kenshin chuckled. “I see that you are awake, Sano.” Sano nodded. “Yeah, I am, what’s this about Shizuku?” Yahiko laughed. “Sano cares about his girlfriend!” A vein popped in Sano’s head. “SHUT UP PUNK!” “Eep!” Yahiko ran and hid behind Kenshin. “Help me Kenshin!” He squealed. Kenshin let out another. “Oro!” Before saying to Sano. “We don’t know where she is, Yahiko told me that he hasn’t seen her since this morning.” Sano started to walk. “I’ll go and look for her.” Kenshin nodded.
After Sano left Yahiko laughed again. “Sano has a girlfriend!” Kenshin just chuckled. But something was weird about that girl. Kenshin didn’t believe everything she had told them. He felt she had a dark past, but he said nothing about it. “Hey Kenshin.” Kenshin turned towards Yahiko. “Oro?” Yahiko stared. “You okay? You’ve been acting very quiet lately.” Kenshin smiled. “I’m fine, just not feeling all to well.” Yahiko nodded.
“You guys again?” Shizuku played with her hair as she was surrounded by guys, all with weapons and they were looking very mad. One of the guys growled. “Don’t play dumb with us! We know you know where he lives!” Shizuku just sighed. “You guys just don’t quit, do you?”
“I hear her voice!” Sano panted, running towards Shizuku and the others. He saw her and quickly hid behind a tree. ‘What is she doing?’ Sano thought. One of the guys stepped forward. “Tell us where he is or we’ll kill you now!” Shizuku laughed. “I would like to see you try!” The guy ran towards her, with a sword in his hand. Shizuku dogded and stuck her sword in his shoulder. “Tsk, tsk, tsk, its not nice to beat up a girl! But you didn’t so I’m alright!” Shiuzku said, smiling. All of the guys stared. Another guy came closer. “Tell us!” Shizuku sighed. “I’m not telling you, he’s mine, got that?” A blush crept on Sano’s face. Was she talking about him? Did the guys want to kill Sano? Sano had no idea what they were talking about. Shizuku continued. “You tell whoever you’re boss is that he’s mine! You’ll see!” Shizuku jumped onto a tree and then vanished. Sano just stood there. He wanted to know so badly what she was talking about. He stood for a while but then headed back to the dojo. Shizuku was there, practicing with Yahiko. “Hey Sano!” She said with a smile. “Where were you?” Sano walked and sat down. “Just out for a walk.” Yahiko raised an eyebrow. “I thought you were looking for..” Sano grabbed Yahiko and put a hand over his mouth. Shizuku stared. Sano smiled. “I was looking for someone, that’s all.” Shizuku rolled her eyes. “Whatever, come on Yahiko, lets continue.” Yahiko nodded and stood up. Kenshin was staring at Sano. Sano wanted to tell him, but there was something inside him telling him no.
“Something wrong Sano?” Kenshin came and sat down next to him, everyone was asleep. Sano shook his head. “Nope, nothing’s wrong.” Kenshin stared. “Sano why didn’t you tell Shizuku that you were looking for her.” Sano was about to tell him what he heard but then he shrugged. “I didn’t find her so I saw no point of telling her.” Kenshin nodded. “Ah, I see.” Kenshin stood up and headed inside. “Good night Sano.” “Night.” Sano replied. ‘Damn it!’ Sano thought. ‘I just lied to Kenshin!’ He buried his face into his hands. He wanted to know what Shizuku was talking about, he wanted at ask her. Sano stood up and walked inside. Maybe he would get the courage and ask her. He only hoped he could.Sanosuke lied in his bed, thinking. He had no idea what to do. He wanted to tell Kenshin what he saw. But mostly, he wanted to ask Shizuku. His chocolate eyes scanned the room. He couldn’t sleep. To many thoughts were inside his head. He twisted and turned. He didn’t know what to do. He thought, and thought. He knew he must think of something. Sano sat up. He finally knew what he was going to do.
“Good morning Sanosuke!” Shizuku smiled as Sano walked to breakfast. “Morning.” He grumbled. “Have a nice sleep?” She asked in the same sweet voice. Sano nodded slowly then yawned. He slowly ate his food. Kenshin and the others stared. “Sano, are you feeling alright?” Karou had now put a hand on his forehead. “He doesn’t have a fever.” Sanosuke growled. “I’m fine! I just had trouble sleeping, alright?” Karou glared. “Fine! That means more food for us, you moocher!” Sano glared, dropped his chopsticks and went outside. He sighed and sat down. The cool breeze whipped his face.
“Sano?” Sano jolted up. “What? What’s wrong?” Shizuku giggled. “Nothing, you just fell asleep, guess you really didn’t get a lot of sleep huh?” Sano nodded. Shizuku giggled once more. “Why don’t you go take a nap then?” Sanosuke shook his head. “No, I’m alright, I think that tiny nap did me some good.” He stretched and let out a big yawn. Karou walked outside. “Hey Sano, dinner is ready if you want some.” Sanosuke shook his head. “No, not hungry.” Karou eyes widened. “Are you sure you’re ok? It’s really not like you to miss out on food.” Sano glared. “I’m fine.” Karou just shrugged and went back inside. Sano noticed Shizuku had stayed outside too. “Hey, aren’t you going to go eat?” Shizuku sighed. “Not hungry either, its not Karou’s cooking.” Sano chuckled. “I think Kenshin made it, so it should be fine.” Both laughed. “I’m not hungry anyways.” Shizuku said, with her raven hair blowing in the wind. “Sano, you sure you’re alright? You have been acting weird today.” Shizuku inched closer and closer to Sano until he felt her warm breath on his neck. Sano blushed. “Ye-s I’m fine.” Something then struck Sano. “I need to ask you something.” He said, facing Shizuku. “Yes?” She said. Sano took a deep breath. “Ok yesterday I was looking for you, because, well, I was worried about you.” Sano whispered. “And I saw you surrouned by these guys, I heard you guys talking. Who is it that you want? Who is it that all of you want?” Sano asked, he could hear his heart beating inside of his ears. Shizuku smiled. She put both of her hands on each side of Sano’s jacket, she pulled him into a deep long kiss. When she finally broke him apart she smiled slyly. “You shall see who I’m after, do not worry, you shall see.” She stood up and walked inside, Sano sat there, speechless. None of that had answered his question. He sighed and sat there. Not knowing what was coming up next. That same night, Sano had the same problems. He couldn’t sleep. His head was swimming. To many things he wanted to know. Something inside of him was saying that something strange was going on with Shizuku. Something’s not right. Should he tell Kenshin? Was there something Shizuku wasn’t telling us? Sano wanted to know. He sighed once more before actually falling to sleep. Sano would soon found out the answers….“Yahiko!” Yahiko spun around to see Shizuku’s smiling face towards him. “Yes Shizuku?” Shizuku smiled again. “May I please have some more?” Yahiko nodded and Shizuku handed him her bowl. Shizuku was at the Akabeko while Yahiko was working. She told Yahiko that she needed “Time alone.” And “Karou’s cooking isn’t the best. Yahiko of course agreed with her on that. But felt that something wasn’t right.
“Yahiko, I’m going to go now.” Yahiko wipped around. “But so soon?” Shizuku smiled. “Yeah, I’m going to take a little walk, I’ll see you later!” Shizuku walked out. Yahiko looked confused. She just came in and she now just left? Something really wasn’t right. But Yahiko wondered what. “Hey Tsubame, can you cover for me a little bit?” Tsubame nodded. “Ok.” Yahiko smiled. “Thanks! I owe you one!” Yahiko ran, he wanted to find out where Shizuku was going. He wanted to know what wasn’t feeling right. “What? You guys again?” Yahiko heard Shizuku’s voice, he continued to run. He ran until he saw Shizuku. She was surrouned by the same scruffy looking guys that Sano saw. Yahiko quickly climbed a tree and looked down. Yahiko listened. “Give it up Shizuku!” One of the men said. Shizuku sighed. “Yeah, like I’ll give up to the likes of you guys?” One of the men growled. “Not even you can beat him!” Shizuku just smiled sweetly. “I can, and I will. You have no idea what my job was the past years.” “Not even you can beat him!” One guy hollered. Shizuku just smiled again. “I’m going to defeat him, I’m going to defeat the legendart Battousai.” Yahiko gasped. Shizuku wanted to kill Kenshin? Yahiko couldn’t believe it. All the men laughed. “Have you even heard of Kenshin’s past? Do you know the way he fights?” Shizuku laughed, seeming to laugh with them. “Of course! Who doesn’t know of him? But I know I can defeat him. And finally be the best swordsman in Japan!” One of the men stared. “Is that the only reason you’re going to fight Battousai?” Shizuku chuckled softly. “You are fools. I have other reasons, but why would I tell you? Now excuse me, I have a man to beat and another fool’s heart to break.” Yahiko tighted his hand into a fist. ‘How dare she!’ Yahiko thought. He knew she was talking about Sano. Yahiko was mad at Shizuku, he had trusted her. Yahiko climbed down slowly but quickly and ran to the dojo. “Kenshin! Kenshin!” Yahiko panted. Karou came outside. “What’s wrong Yahiko?” Yahiko shook hes head. “No time to explain! Where is Kenshin!” Sano came outside too. “Whats with your yelling punk?” Yahiko froze. Sano was in love with Shizuku. Yahiko didn’t know if he should tell him or not. “ Where’s Kenshin!” Karou looked worried. “He’s out shopping, why whats wrong?” Yahiko opened his mouth but closed it. Karou walked closer. “Yahiko tell us!” Yahiko sighed. “Fine fine! But Sano, you won’t like it.” Yahiko and the others sat down. Yahiko told them everything he heard. He finished then sighed. Karou gasped. “No, it can’t be true.” Yahiko nodded slowly. “I’m sorry but it is, I heard it with my own ears.” Sano stood up. “Sano?” Yahiko looked up at him. Sano turned around, his face with anger. “This is all bull! It has to be! You’re lying! NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!” He yelled and walked out of the room. Yahiko was about to chase after him but Karou grabbed his arm. “Let him be Yahiko. This must be the hardest for him.” Yahiko sighed once more. “Ok, but I’m going to go find Kenshin!
Yahiko ran and ran. “Kenshin!” He would yell. Yahiko stopped to catch his breath. “Damn it! Where is he?” He felt a arm come around his neck. Next thing he knew, he was pulled somewhere he didn’t know. He was throwned against a wall. He looked up to his kidnapper. It was a man cloaked from head to tone. “So you heard Shizuku, did you? No matter! We can finally get Battousai to come to us!” The man laughed. Somebody walked in. Yahiko gasped. It was Shizuku. “So you got him huh? Good.” Yahiko was furious he started to run towards Shizuku, holding his shinai in both of his hands. The man grabbed him. He tied Yahiko’s arms and but a bandage around Yahiko’s mouth. The man and Shizuku laughed. “Now,” Started the man. “Is to get Battousai to come.” Shizuku turned around and had a piece of paper in her hand. She handed it to another cloaked man. “Here,” Shizuku said. “Take this to Battousai.” The man nodded and vanished. Shizuku smiled. “Finally, the time has come.”
“Yahiko’s late.” Karou said, with a worried voice. Kenshin nodded. “This also thinks that.” Sano was sitting with his back to the wall. “He’ll come sooner or later.” Karou glared at him. “You’re only mad at him because of what he said earlier!” Sano now looked at her with a don’t-mess-with-me look. “Whatever!” Kenshin looked at both of them. “Oro? What did he say?” Karou sighed. She started to tell him about what Yahiko had told them. Kenshin nodded. “I see, could it be that Yahiko is in trouble?” Karou gasped. “Oh my gosh! I hope not!” Sano just folded his arms. “Feh, he always gets in trouble.” Karou shot him another glare. “You’re so selfish!” Just as she said this, something zoomed right by her face. Kenshin stared wide-eyed. “Karou-dono! Are you alright?” Kenshin asked, shocked at what just happened. Karou gasped. She nodded slowly. Sano, who was now intrested stood up. “What was that?” Kenshin and Sano walked over to where they thought it landed. They bent over to see an arrow, on the arrow was a parch of parchment rolled up and tied together by string. “Oro?” Kenshin pick it up and un scrolled it. It was a letter.
Dear Battousai,
We have your little friend here. If you want to see him, come to the riverside at sun set.
Karou quickly ran over and read the letter. She gasped. Kenshin stayed silent while Sano cracked his knuckles. “So, the punk wasn’t lying? We’re going, right Kenshin?” Kenshin was still quiet for a while, until the letter became a cumpled up ball in side his hand. “Yes, lets.” He said, with amber glints in his eyes. Karou shuddered, she knew what it was like when Kenshin turned Battousai, he doesn’t listen to anyone. It’s like he’s in a different world. And everytime Kenshin did turn Battousai, Karou was worried that he wouldn’t come back to the ruouni. “Karou, have 3 baths ready when we return at sun rise.” Kenshin said, starting to walk, with Sano right by his side. Karou nodded.
“Kenshin, do you really think it is Shizuku?” Kenshin kept his head straight. “I’m not entirely sure, it could be, or that she is working for someone.” Sano’s heart ached in pain as he heard this. He couldn’t believe that it was Shizuku. She has seemed like such a happy and sweet girl. And Sano had a weird tingly feeling towards her before. Was it love? He wasn’t sure. He sighed and Kenshin looked up at him. “I’m sorry Sano.” Sano just turned his head. “No, its not your fault.” The two finally got to the riverside. About a minute later something jumped and landed in front. The man in the cloak appeared, and next to him was Shizuku with a happy smile on her face. “Hello Sano!” She said with a small wave. Sano just glared. His emitions for Shizuku had changed, all he could think for her was hatred. Shizuku frowned. “Whats with that face? Did I make you mad?” Sano said nothing. Shizuku shrugged. “Well alright, if you won’t talk to me.” Kenshin acted like he heard nothing she said. “Who are you? And where is Yahiko?” He asked the cloaked man. The man chuckled. “My name is Warui, teacher of assassins.” Kenshin gasped. Warui, he had heard the name before. “You’re Warui?” It finally snapped, Kenshin knew who he was. “Warui, the man who faught my sensei all those years ago?” Warui laughed. “Yes, the one who almost beat him! And now it is time to take revenge on that! For it should have been me with that honor not him! It is time.” All of a sudden, Shizuku stepped forward. “You ready to fight Kenshin? If you beat me you can have that brat back. But if win, I’ll have to kill you.” Kenshin stepped forward, his hand on the handle of his sword. “I will make sure that I don’t lose then.” He said, his eyes full amber now. Shizuku smiled. “Oh my! Look at those eyes! I’ll be fighting the real battousai!” Kenshin said nothing. Shizuku just smiled and winked at Sano. “Do not worry Sano, I shall win and then we can be together!” Sano didn’t even look at her. He was watching Kenshin. ‘He’s really angry.’ Sanosuke thought. ‘But why isn’t Warui fighting him? And why doesn’t Shizuku seem scared?’ Kenshin walked a little closer, so did Shizuku. Kenshin’s eyes gleamed amber as the sun was crawling out of the sky. ‘This fight won’t be easy.’ Kenshin thought.Shizuku smiled. “What is it Battousai? Don’t tell me you don’t like to fight girls! Don’t worry! I don’t mind!” Kenshin said nothing, his eyes full of anger. Sanosuke shivered. It was always scary when he turned Battousai. His eyes full of anger and his past. Sano knew Kenshin’s past was frightening. When Kenshin turned Battousai, the future of the rurouni is wiped out, the return of Battousai is clear. Everytime, Kenshin only cares about killing his enemy. Sanosuke watched, not being able to do anything. Kenshin pulled out his sword out of his sheath. It glistened in the moonlight. Shizuku smiled. “Good! Lets get this started!” She also pulled out her sword, it was like Kenshin’s except that it wasn’t a sakabatou. She licked the blade with a sly smile. “Ready to have some fun Battousai?” Shizuku started to run at Kenshin, she tried to slash his side, but Kenshin merley dogded. Kenshin was about to attack but Shizuku was now on at his back. Shocked at her speed, Kenshin stepped back. “You’re going to have to do better then that.” She said and stabed his shoulder. Blood sprayed on everywhere. Sano gasped, her speed was the same as his. Kenshin acted like nothing happened (remember! Battousai!) He turned around, so did Shizuku, she looked at the blood as though she enjoyed it. She sighed. “My my, Battousai is losing his touch!” Battousai just glared and started to run again towards her. He was about to attack but she did a back flip over him, she landed and was about to stab him. Kenshin with his god like speed, moved quickly and ended up at her back. He went in for an attack, Shizuku crouched and did a sweep kick making Kenshin trip. Kenshin was now on his back, Shizuku held her sword as if she was about to stab, Kenshin rolled over and jumped up.
Sanosuke watched in surprise, Shizuku’s speed, it was like Kenshin’s. Shizuku and Kenshin were now both breathing very fast. Shizuku smiled. “I misjudge you Battousai, you’re better then I thought you were!” Battousai held his sword up, ready to attack again. “You’ll be surprised once I kill you.” He said. Shizuku looked a little surprised but had the same smile on her face. “Oo, big words Battousai, you sure you can carry them out?” “Yes, when I say I’ll kill you, I will.” Kenshin said. Shizuku shrugged. “You’ll be surprised.” Kenshin vanished from sight, next thing Shizuku knew, he was at side, he slashed her side. Shizuku acted like she didn’t even get hurt. Swords clashed and shimmered while Sanosuke watched. After a while, Kenshin once more vanished and appeared at Shizuku’s back again. Shizuku smiled. She dogded his attack and did a back flip once more. She ran towards him, using his god like speed again, Kenshin dodged and ran towards her, sword in sheath, Shizuku had her back to him, Shizuku gasped, she turned around only to have her stomach cut. She leaned over, blood dripping. She looked up only to meet a sword to her neck. She fell to the ground, the sword following her. She smiled at the one who was holding it. “You won Battousai, are you going to kill me now?” Kenshin, eyes full of hatred and death looked down at Shizuku, lying there, he could kill her in one swipe. He enjoyed this, killing, blood. It all reminded him of his past. The look, the feel of death and blood. All of it was coming back. Shizuku smiled once more. “Do it already, I know you want to Battousai.” The sword drew closer into her neck, blood started fall. Kenshin looked at his pitiful enemy. She had no idea what a mess she had gotten herself into. The sword drew nearer….
*HAHAHA! EVIL CLIFFIE! ^-^ PLEASE REVIEW!*
Kenshin stared into the eyes of his enemy. This was a joyous feeling. He had forgotten how much he had enjoyed it. He smiled an evil smile to Shizuku. “You fool, you should have never have messed with me.” Shizuku said nothing, just looking at the sword and back at him. Sanosuke stood there, he could do nothing. His feelings for Shizuku were still in his heart, still waiting there. He was going to tell her how he felt but now he couldn’t, he longed to have Shizuku’s soft lips brush against him. ‘No!’ Sano said in his head. He should be thinking this! Shizuku was an enemy! She had betrayed him! But still, still in his heart, feelings of love still stirred. He felt there was some good left in her, some love still for him. To hold her in his arms, to feel her warm breath, to see her smile. Oh, how he wanted all that to happen now. He looked over to Shizuku, wanting to save her, but if he did, he surely would be killed as well. Shizuku noticed and looked over to him. Sanosuke could have sworned he saw her smile, the soft smile that Sano thought was hers. The one that he thought was real. But this looked real, her eyes full of happiness, even when she was on the break of death, she was happy.
Kenshin still held the sword at Shizuku’s neck. Why was it taking so long for him to kill? If he loved it so much, why wasn’t he doing it? Standing there, he thought in his head. ‘Kill, kill her!’ A voice said. But something, something was telling him not too, was this the wanderer? Was this the one that promised never to kill again? He shook his head, no, this was the Battousai and will stay the Battousai. He then looked into Shizuku’s eyes, her face might have been happy, but her eyes where full of fear. Fearness, fear of death. He saw a tear fall from the corner of her eye. He smiled wider, fear was clear now. He loved the look of fear. Part of his mind was enjoying it, but what was this? Another felt sorry for the enemy? Seeing the fear made them want to pull the sword away. ‘No!’ Said the Battousai. ‘We like to kill!’ The other voice said ‘No, this one does not.’ Battousai gasped. The rurouni was returning. The one that never kills was coming back. Battousai didn’t not want this to happen. ‘No! I am in control now!’ The same other voice chuckled softly. ‘This one disagrees, I am in control, and always will be.’ The Battousai had eyes full of shock. ‘No!’ But it was too late, the rurouni returned, his eyes returning to a soft, cheerful purple. He pulled away the sword from Shizuku, put it in the sheath before turning to Shizuku and Warui. “Where is Yahiko? I have won, you made a deal.” Warui laughed. “I should not be surprised that you have won! Yes, a deal is a deal, here is the boy.” Out of the darkness, Yahiko was thrown to the ground infront of Kenshin. He got up quickly and glared at Warui and Shizuku. “Jerks.” He said before walking over to Kenshin. Kenshin smiled, turned around and started to walk. Sanosuke smiled. The rurouni had returned, no surprise there. Giving on last glance at Shizuku, he joined Yahiko and Kenshin.
“How’s your wound?” Kenshin shook his arms. “Deep, but I won’t die.” Sano let out a low chuckle. “That’s nice to hear.” He said. Kenshin looked over at Yahiko. “Are you ok Yahiko?” Yahiko nodded. “Yep, I’m fine, I knew you would win.” Kenshin smiled. They all returned to the dojo to meet a shocked Karou and Megumi. Megumi took care of Kenshin’s wounds. And everything went back to normal, well so thought Sanosuke.
Hold me gentley..
Tell me you love me..
I want to be yours..
And only yours
Sanosuke breathed the cool summer air. The breeze blowing through his hair. He smiled, it was a beautiful day, the options for what to do where endless.
Somethings I want..
But I want only you right now
He chuckled as he saw Kenshin doing the laundry, he never understood that why he did that. Everything was normal, no worries or problems. But for some reason, something was still bothering him..his heart was telling him something, but what was it?
My heart needs healing
Come to me now..
Let me tell you that I love you
Never want to let go
Staying forever..
Sano sighed, he was confused. Everything was perfect now, what was bothering him? He longed for something, or was it someone? Sanosuke shook his head. He didn’t want to be bothered now, not when things were going so well.
Don’t let me go
Let me see the light
Let me be with you
Nevering letting go
Just staying
Then a picture of someone flashed in his mind. ‘No,’ Sano thought. It was Shizuku, he had longed to see her again. His love for her still was beating in his heart, he couldn’t do anything about it. He wished he could see her, even if it was a second, just to be near her, to hear her talk. He knew that if he did that, Kenshin and the others would hate him, he knew he shouldn’t love her, but it was hard.
I want to be with you
My heart longs for you
Come to me
Hold me gentley..
Tell me you love me..
I want to be yours..
And only yours..
Dear Sanosuke,
You probably can guess who this is. I want to see you again, met me near the Sakura blossoms, I understand if you don’t come. You hate me…but I’ll wait
‘you've thought of all there is
but not enough
and it loses you in a cloud
Sanosuke’s eyes read it a few times. He couldn’t believe it was her. He wanted to see her too, he’s heart pounded. He stood up. Kenshin, leaning with his back to the wall smiled at him. “Going somewhere?” Sano frooze. “Just for a walk.” Kenshin’s smile got wider. “You do not need to lie to me, I know who sent you that letter.” Sanosuke heart dropped, he surely hates him now. “Kenshin, I.” Kenshin walked over to him and clasped his hand on his shoulder. “I understand Sanosuke, go ahead, I won’t stop you.” Sanosuke stared in amazement. He was letting him go, just like that? Sano smiled at him. “Thanks Kenshin, I really owe you one.” Kenshin nodded. Sanosuke started to run. ‘Wait for me, I’ll be there.’
"there" most everything is nothin'
that it seems
"where" you see the things you only wanna see
Karou and Yahiko walked out. “Where’s Sano going?” Yahiko asked, hand on his shinai, ready for practice. Kenshin smiled to the two. “Just for a walk.” Karou and Yahiko shrugged and went to practice.
‘Wait for me.’ Was the only thing going in Sanosuke’s mind right now. He ran and ran, he finally saw the pink petals floating down to the stream. He put his hands on his knees, panting. “So you came Sanosuke.” Sano looked up. It was Shizuku, her hair gleaming and her clothes new. Pinkness in the background, Sano stood up. “Yeah, I came.” Shizuku walked over to the bridge and looked down in the water. “Why?” Sanosuke walked over by her, sakura petals flying every which way. “I also wanted to see you.” Shizuku looked up at him and smiled. “Really?” Sano nodded, his face now turning the color of one of the petals. Shizuku smiled even more.
I'd fly away
to a higher plane
to say words I resist
to float away
to sigh
to breathe.... forget
“I’m glad that you came, but I don’t think you want to be with me, everyone hates me.” Shizuku looked away, sadness in her eyes. “Shizuku,” Sanosuke started. “I don’t hate you, and I bet Kenshin and the others don’t either.” Tears rolled down Shizuku’s face. “I was such an idoit though! I betrayed you! How can anyone forgive me?” She buried her face in her hands. “Shizuku, its because, its because.”
and heaven's not enough
if when I'm there I don't remember you
and heaven does enough
you think you know it
and it uses you
Sano said, his face turning bright red. “Its because I love you Shizuku!” Shizuku looked up, mouth open. Sanosuke felt like he had just loaded a big weight off his heart. He didn’t care if she was crying, just as long as he got to see her. It was good enough for him. Just to stand by her, just to look at her face. Nothing could make him more happy. “Sano,” Shizuku looked at him, as though nothing else was happening.
I saw so many things
but like a dream
always losing me in a cloud
“I also love you Sanosuke.” Shizuku said, wiping her tears away. Sano’s heart soared. Those words felt like they had penetrated his heart. They had made him feel the most happy he has ever been.
cause I couldn't cry
cause I turned away
couldn't see the score
didn't know the pain
of leaving yesterday really far behind
Sanosuke smiled. Shizuku smiled back, Sano’s heart melted. He loved it when she smiled, he walked closer to her and pulled her into a hug. He didn’t care how long it would be, just as long as he was with her. Just to hold her, that would be enough. He thought he would die of happniess, he couldn’t think of anything he wanted right now. He then heard her soft voice. “Thank you Sanosuke.” Sanosuke looked down at her. “What for?” Shizuku smiled at him. “I’ve never been happy before like this, all what you saw before was an act. My life has always been horrible, its always been full of war and blood.” Sanosuke put a hand on her head and hugged her more. “Your life won’t be like that anymore.”
in another life
in another dream
by a different name
gave it all away
for a memory
The two just stood there. Time flew by but they didn’t care. For them this was all that mattered, staying in eachothers arms, being together. For all enternity or just a day. It didn’t matter. The sakura petals floated down stream, not knowing where they were going and the sun set. Petals floating, each different from each other, nothing else mattered now, nothing else mattered.
and a quiet lie
and I felt the face
of a cold tonight
still don't know the score
but I know the pain
of leaving everything really far behind
~end~
