Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly- Part 1
This is the great fable of my first time playing “the haunted video game.”
If any of you have ever heard and haven’t experienced the massive horror that is this bloody game I pity you, for it is a great game, but I also envy you, because you were not just scared to death by….a video game
I had first heard of this game from a blog written by the famous OGHC’s grandson, Tim. Anyways while reading this blog I was innocent, untouched by the horrors that awaited me. The blog had talked about said game with high honors, saying that it was a great horror video game basically, but “horror” didn’t begin to describe it. (side note: even OGHC had been scared out of her chair a few times by screams from the little girl and Tim’s new/old camera was put in a near death experience by just filming it, they sold both the copy of the game, signed, and the ….kinda broken camera along with it after beating it hoping to get rid of the “bad juju” within their house)
Weeks later after reading this I decided to act like I’m so special and rent the game. Thinking that the game wasn’t as bad as people had let up.
After getting said game home I was needless to say excited to play it so after preparing my gaming station (which consists of a computer with special hookups so that it also acts as a T.V. because unlike some of you my room is the size of a storage closet, despite it’s coolness, so it can’t fit both a T.V. and a computer in there and I’d rather have the computer) and then my headphones were promptly plugged into my stereo which is plugged into my computer emitting the awesomeness of surround sound at ear shattering levels through wondrous headphones that I have to use now for my iPod instead of the classic ones because I’ve already burnt out two pairs of those…..Moving along
Unfortunately all is not well in the gaming section because unfortunately….
…I had lost my XBOX
Seeming like this was no problem (although twitching madly ever so slightly after realizing that I did not know the location of my XBOX) I calmly grab the disc and, forgetting that it could have evil supernatural powers, slip it into my 360.
Big Mistake
Of course the 360 didn’t play the game because it’s an older game, which is no problem with me but still I couldn’t kind my XBOX therefore no game playing goodness for me! so defeated. I replace the disc with Halo and endure the remarks like “How did you loose an XBOX! Did it fall behind a couch or something?!?” from my Live friends.
In short, my 360 broke. I think it was the fact that it had been touched by the game. We sent it in to be repaired today (the game putting in had happened on Thursday and the breaking happened on Saturday)
And I found my XBOX, it is plugged into the computer below my chair and Fatal Frame is on pause after scaring the ghost of me out of my skin….
More to come on Friday after I return the game!
My next post: Fatal Frame II- why there should be a warning label on those kinda things
That is all,
~Joey
