Noobie Alert....- -0
Hello all! Bonny Fyfa here and this is my first post so I might as well make it contain all of the basics that a first post typically has. You know, with the favorites and junk that everyone loves/hates to read about a person. But enough of my ramble and I might as well hop to it.
Right now I'm laying on my bed typing away at my laptop, since I'm not allowed on the family computer anymore. See I have this little habit of downloading anime music videos, (music videos made by fans with footage from tv-shows for those who dont know. If you want to see how wonderful they are, sign up for them free at www.animemusicvideos.org) going on mass printing sprees, and otherwise collecting viruses that ruined three desktops I was banned from the home computer. But that's alright, I like having my laptop better because I'm the only one that can get on it and I dont have to worry about anyone yelling at me for my background, downloads, ect. ect.
Well since this is a get-to-know-me entry, might as well make it an extension to the interests/expertise. I'll go down my lists of favorite interests and hobbies.
First and foremost is anime/manga! I've been into cartoons since I was a wee babe. Disney movies were the greatest. Beauty and the Beast was my first movie ever and it still is my ultimate all time favorite...right beside The Little Mermaid. I had the dolls, the books, the beachtowels, the pajamas, the poster, the puppets, everything. Hell my bedroom furniture was the Beauty and the Beast set! I still have it! The canopy bed, the vanity table, the curtains, the dresser, bedside table, the comforter, and the sheet pillows. I coulding find the carpet though --0 Lol. Although I dont use the bedding/canopy anymore, they're still tucked away in my closet in a special box there. So to summarize, cartoons have been a fascination since I was very small. The Disney Princesses were my heros. (Do I need to say that Belle was my ultimate idol? lol) I started watching Anime when I began watching Sailor Moon, but I guess I was a tomboy with my 'toon preferences because I loved the ones that were geared towards the boys. Detective Tin-Tin was a show that I HAD to watch every day. If I missed it I either cried or made my Dad tape it for me. The same thing happened with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I was/still am a big fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Donatello and Leonardo are my favorites), Batman and Robin, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Not to say that I hated the pretty girly cartoons, I was crazy about Sky Dancers, My Little Pony, and Papa Beaver's Story Time. The Muppet Show and Muppets Tonight were also very special to me. As my family moved every three years or so due to my father's job (he's a Senior Mangaer at Federal Express...FUCK UPS ) I eventually got to know many of the animes that are played in the USA today during my three-year stay in Italy. I watched Rossana (Kodoca no Omucha), Dragon Ball/Z, Deltanious, (the very FIRST season of the Gundam Wing legend) Cowboy Bepop, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and many others without really knowing just what they were. When I moved to Easton PA, I saw an old favorite of mine in English for the first time: Dragon Ball Z. I guess that was when I recieved my jump start. Since my Dragon Ball Z obsession has died down, (although I think I'll always be a fan of it...I still gawk at the T-shirts, posters, and other merchendise out there, hell even my locker keychain as Mirai Trunks on it) Whenever I 'go thru' a series it means that I either buy the entire series on DVDs/VHSs or at least one season of it. I went through Gundam Wing, (with Hiiro, Duo, Quatre, Trowa, and Wufei), all three Fushigi Yugi series, Yu-Gi-Oh! (another DBZ-ish fandom), Yu-Yu-Hakusho, (still am in full swing with that one) Weiss Kruez, Inuyasha, and just about all of the majorly popular ones in the USA today. I recently bought the series known as Pretear and loved it and I started collecting the Yu Yu Hakusho dvds of Chapter Black. O'er the summer I saw all of Trigun when a friend bought the box set for her b-day and we stayed up all night watching them. We had so much fun...So I guess the bottom line is of this rambling section right now is that I'M A BIG CARTOON FAN!! YEAH, ANIME/MANGA MAKES THE WORLD GO 'ROUND!!
The other mega-obsession I have is the Fantasy, Renaissance, Medieval, and all that jazz. I have a HUGE fascination with those eras/genres. Im majorly into rapiers and corsets. ^^ British Literature is my favorite class, even if the teacher isnt very nice...
Next comes my hobbies: Its drawing and writing. Ask any of my classmates...along with taking notes I'll constantly be either writing/laying out a piece of fanfiction or orginal stories under my schoolwork. I cant help it...good thing the only one who's ever really caught me at it is my math teacher, Sister Thomasina and needless to say I stopped doing it in her class anyways. I never do it with my British Literature/Chemistry teachers and I cant do it in art because Sister Maryanne is kinda a stickler about le rules. But yes, I can draw, that is a talent and I have no shame in admitting it/declaring that I'm skilled in it. Oh well...writing is another hobby I practice constantly. I've produced so much fanfiction I cant even keep track of it anymore and so far my best friends and I have produced four or five epics that I'll eventually turn into mangas one day in the future.
Scholastics: English is a favorite subject of mine needless to say. I'm definately one of those kids that SUCKS at math and isnt the best but gets by in Biology but exceeds in History and English. European History is definately a biggie for me. Like I said, I have a fascination with the Greeks, Romans, and the Middle Ages to the Enlightenment period. And I love learning about criminals and what not, dont ask why. Jack the Ripper and the Zodiac Killer fascinate me the most. Maybe that's just a sorta-sick twist in my mind but I'd LOVE to know just what went wrong in these guys' heads and thier modevations. I plan to go to college for at least four years. I may not be an honor student but I love school and college is something I'm looking forward to.
Books: Shakespeare!! Shakespeare!! Shakespeare!! Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, the Henrys, A Comedy of Errors, A Midsummer Nights Dreams, the Sonnets, SHAKESPEARE ROCKS!!!! Cant get enough of the guy. He recieves No. 1 Gold Metal in my opinion. The man who gets the Silver is Alexandre Dumas, who wrote the famous stories of D'Artangon, Athos, Porthos, and Aramis in The Three Musketeers. He also wrote Twenty Years After, The Man in the Iron Mask, and the Count of Monte Cristo. I'm a huge fan of all of his works.
Movies: Well obviously from my book loves, the corresponding movies are my favorites. The Musketeer, The Three Musketeers, The Man in the Iron Mask, The Count of Monte Cristo, I own em all and know them like the back of my hand. All of them were very well done in my opinion even if they werent very faithful to the books. I'm a HUGE fan of the movies where the men are in poet blouses, the women are in corsets and the main weapons are either pistols or rapier swords. Any of the Robin Hood movies, An Interveiw with a Vampire, and The Mask of Zorro are films I highly reccomend to anyone. And any sane girl is a huge fan of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Other favorites of mine are Finding Nemo, Troy, The Secret Window, Lorna Doone, Fiddler on the Roof, The Nightmare Before Christmas (I love that one so much my LUNCHBOX is NBXM!!), The Teenage Mutant Nija Turtle movies...bottom line: I'm a movie person, it's a wonder I work at a theatre.
Yes I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE fangirl concerning Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom, and Johnny Depp. I cant help it the men have got to be the best looking ones on the planet. ^^ Typical me...
Friends: I'm a social butterfly. My dad once asked me if I even live at my house on the weekends. ^^0 lol. I love all of my friends to death, both sets from Easton Area High and from my current school, Notre Dame. From Easton there is Elise, Siobhan, Jenn, three Davids, two Ryans, Steve (Chibi), Maria, and Ruth. The first three are the closest to me and are the ones that I write my originals and currently our book series. *flashses the Kiwibum sign* Hail Abgek you guys! My friends at Notre Dame mean just as much. Allison, Vince, and Heather who are anime freaks right along with me. Ashley C., Katie, and Katherine are some of the best people I've ever met in my life. I'd probably loose my mind if they werent at school with me. I WUV YOU GUYS!!
Theatre/Music: Well I have a fairly strange taste. I love J-pop and seldom american rock/pop but not so much as I love Celtic music. Loreena McKennit and Enya is the music I'm going to blast in my blue/green/purple Punch-Buggy Beetle when I'm driving it. There's just something about the music from old world Ireland, England, and Scottland that I really love. With Theatre, I'm in love with it. I love watching plays/musicals, putting them together, and seeing them.
My FAVORITE Broadway Play is called A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. It's a book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelberset "...in a less fashionable suburb of Rome in these three houses". And by GOD it's the most hilarious story you will EVER see. It's a bawdy comedy revolves around Pseudolus "the sloppiest, most dishonest slave in all of Rome", who will do almost anything to gain his freedom. When Pseudolus is left in charge of his master Senex's young son Hero, who has fallen madly in love with a beautiful virgin courtesan named Philia next door the fun begins. Hero promises Pseudolus his freedom if he can arrange a marriage before his father and overbearing mother return from thier trip. Pseudolus, of course, agrees. But not even the conniving slave can foresee the tangled DISASTER he's about to cause. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum opened at the Alvin Theatre on May 8, 1962, with Zero Mostel (God rest his soul) playing the part of Pseudolus. It was so popular that it ran for 967 performences and that was only the first time it came on Broadway! Woof!
Star Rating: 5!!!
Well I think that's it for a first posting guys. Hopefully I covered everything people need to know without giving you a headache. Hopefully I'll have another post up soon with some pictures maybe too!
Love and Peace and All That Jazz!
