From the front
I have decided to use the Britons they may be barbarians but after I reformed their army they can go toe to toe with the (early) roman legions
here is my account of my first battle with the gauls from their point of view.

All night we had been walking towards the coast the Britons had shown a sign of weakness they had abandoned the old gods and undergoing some type of reform. they dared to oppose the Gauls those puny islanders our tribe controls the entire western edge of the world (note: they thought the west coast of europe was the edge of the world) they shun our gods. they have the audacity to invade the mainland we were going to teach them what happens to those who oppose gaulish might.

We thought we were safe with the blessings of our drudic priests but out of the night a warcry like none we had ever heard bellowed forth I ordered my men to find these cocky celts "swords out shields up tonight we send tyer a feast of Briton blood." But we were wrong celts appeared not dressed on the cloth armor of a warband but iron I ordered a charge and as my men ran foward the druids began to whip up a grand war chant.

But then an arrow split the head of my high priest in two "they fire upon us from the trees you men find and kill those cowardly archers" then as I began to finally feel the situation was in hand I heard a horn blow and a wall of britons on some type of platform pulled by horses charged on the rear right at me. I was able to gallop away andavoid the charge. My men were not so lucky with the heavily armored celts in front of them and the those horsedrawn death dealers behind my men were slaughtered like pigs.

It was all I could do to watch but I was far too late in realising my mistake I felt a sharp sting in my neck and somthing warm flowing down my shirt then I realised as everything began to go fuzzy and I fell off my horse I was hit and soon I would drink with my ancestors. But what of Gaul what could we bring to bear against such a force. Oh well it wasn't my concern anymore and as everything went black I could hear the Britons cheering in the distance.
