EVANESCENCE!
Okay you fans. Have you been wondering why Evanescence have been all stealthy for a while? Well, I know the reasons, so here we go.
Reason One: Amy Lee filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against the band's former manager, Dennis Rider of Rider Management, charging "breach of fiduciary duty," sexual assault and battery, professional negligence and currency conversion, among other claims. Rider filed a law suit against the singer saying she owed him millions in unpaid commisions, so Amy Lee countersued.
Reason Two: Amy Lee and Shaun Morgan Split.
Amy Lee and Shaun Morgan [Seether] broke up. And if this wasn't posted, no one would have known. The reasons are unknown, but one source tells me it was a deadline thing.
Reason Three: Terry Balsamo Suffers A Stroke.
Evanescence guitarist Terry Balsamo suffered a stroke last November during the making of the album [Open Door], but Lee says he has made a miraculous revovery.
Reason Four: Will Boyd Leaves The band.
Will Boyd [bass] left the band a few weeks before July 14th. He said he couldn't go through another big tour and wanted to be closer to family. Lee says, on behalf of the rest of the members of Evanescence, "Touring is hard - you kind of have to sacrifice your life for it, so we can all understand. We love Will very much and wish him nothing but happiness in everything he does."

So there they are, there's probably more but I just couldn't find them. Now here we go! A little info about the new album!

Release date: October 3rd (2006)
First single [Call Me When You're Sober] Airs On The Radio: August 7th/8th/2nd
Song List:
1. 'Sweet Sacrifice' - The listener is captivated by Amy’s universe as the very first notes start off. Amy repeatedly takes a deep breath in order to absorb us for an hour. Terry’s guitar part flirts with high notes, as Amy’s voice follows the same tonality path.
2. 'Call Me When You're Sober' - First single off of The Open Door; goes for rock radio adds on August 8, 2006. The second track starts with some piano playing by Amy (the instrument which Amy used to write most songs), backed up with vocals that sound very “produced”. The use of samples already is noticeable as the chorus ends.
Amy: ‘It’s DJ Lethal, a mate of Terry’s, whom has done an enormous amount of work for the programming of this CD. I’m more than satisfied with his contribution to this album!’
The big guitar sound created by Terry and the arrangements brought by Johnny cause this track to be one of the heaviest songs on the album. The lyrics about a break-up are most likely related to Seether’s Shaun Morgan, Amy’s ex-boyfriend.
3. 'Weight Of The World' - The guitars take off whilst Amy’s voice gets lost between sampled mumbling and a guitar riff by Balsamo. The vocals get more and more synthetic whilst the guitars get mixed with an electronic supplement. A track that is very easily distinguished from Evanescence’s repertoire.
4. 'Lithium' - The enchanting duo consisting of vocals and piano immediately reminds us of My Immortal (single off Evanescence’s previous album). When the drums and guitars come in, the atmosphere becomes even more solemn. The vocals take care of emotion and consequently sadden the listener, thus reminding us of songs off Origin (Evanescence’s genuine first album). This song is the first album’s highlight/marker.
5. 'Cloud Nine' - We next dive into the soundtrack of a dark movie, with Amy’s mumbling and singing that lightens us up. The very gloomy atmosphere lasts throughout the whole song. DJ Lethal’s samples once again perfectly match with the song.
6. 'Snow White Queen' - The glaucous is still decisive as the drums progressively lean towards a more electronic sound throughout this track. The chorus (You belong to me, my snow white queen) is very effectual.
7. 'Lacrymosa' - A 22-cord orchestra led by Dave Campbell (with whom Evanescence had already worked for their performance at the Billboard Awards 2004) starts off in order to introduce a choir, which serves as back up for Amy’s singing. The song features nearly the entire score as presented in Mozart's Requiem, part III - "Lacrimosa". The term "lacrimosa," or "lacrymosa" means "weeping" / "to weep" in latin.
8. 'Like You' - This is a short track. Lethal’s work is once again noticeable and Amy murmurs on this track as well.
9. 'Lose Control' - Lose Control has piano and loud guitars. Amy says in person that Dave understands her very well like he his in her head.. etc. Amy: ‘Dave understands what we want perfectly. If someone doesn’t understand what your band is trying to reach, someone else will lead it and you lose power over it.'
10. 'The Only one' - The guitar part by Balsamo makes this song remarkable. The piano playing and the vocals by Amy remind us of Missing (the bonus track on Anywhere But Home). When the 7-string guitar takes over, we are a bit reminded of Korn (of which Evanescence have covered Thoughtless, also on Anywhere But Home). However, this is third highlight of the album.
11. 'Your Star' - The piano is the principal instrument for this song. It displays the maturity of the band’s new sound. The choir once again appears, causing the end of the song to be really epic.
12. 'All I'm Living For' - The guitar opens this one up. It then makes place for the piano with a heavy riff. (We notice the reference to the previous album title Fallen, which has been carved onto our memories forever). Indisputably the 4th highlight of the album.
13. 'Good Enough' - There is a piano and the voice is really intimate and generator of emotional part of the lyrics: Am I good enough for you to live..(dark) good enough to love me. This album has until now had a pretty dark tone. Good Enough is a big change. It is 9 minutes long.

Random Poem.
This is just a poem I wrote.
I don’t want to talk about it.
Talking only leads to pain.
I don’t want to think about it.
Thinking leads to tears.
I only want to smile about it.
Smiling leads to avoidance.
I’ll avoid the issue.
Until you’ve forgotten.
That way I won’t talk.
I won’t think, I won’t cry.
I’ll only avoid it
With a simple smile.
Grr!
Omg, men suck! I mean seriously, sometimes they are more confusing than an elephant in a tutu! Argh'! I hate the ones that lead you on and don't tell you what's going on. Ones like James! > Comments (0) |
