Okay well this was a first...
I did a karate demo today, which went nicely compared to the last one where I was actually nervous. The whole day there was some fundraiser thing going on, so there were little kiddie games and stuff like that everywhere.
The demo wasn't starting for another 20 minutes or so, so I decided to do some walking around. I was minding my own buisness, just looking around, and I spotted these two girls kinda huddled together and looking straight at me. I just shrugged it off and turned the other direction, continuing to mind my own buisness when I felt someone tap on my shoulder. I turned around and it was one of those girls. All she said to me was, "my friend thinks you're cute" and then pointed to her friend (the other girl). I froze up and looked around and said, "Well, that's a first..." and she turned around and walked away really fast and I think she was giggling. I didn't get too good of a look at her friend becuase I was too busy staring at my feet, but I did my eye contact with her for a split second and she was smiling at me. I couldn't force anything else out of my mouth, so I just kept saying the same thing over and over about four or five times until she went back to her friend.
Okay well, I did get a glimpse of her, and I honestly could not at all see a girl like that thinking something like that about me. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm not the kind of guy who judges by looks, I'm just talking about what I got form a single glance and no communication. She just looked like the kind of girl who would be attracted to the kind of guy who would try to shove me into the lockers in the school hallway - not to be stereotypical, of course. This is when I came to a new conclusion.
Later I thought back to when they were huddled and looking at me, and I tried to remember the exact look on their faces, and I think that it was nothing more than a dare or bet. I can just imagine...
Girl 1: "I'll give you $5 if you go tell that ugly guy over there that he's cute."
Girl 2: "Heh, good one. I'm not doing that for $5. Not THAT guy"
Girl 1: "Okay fine, you can tell him I think he's cute then. But now I'm cutting it down to $3"
Girl 2: "Deal."
I mean how could I possibly look that attractive enough to make a girl mention it to her friend, and then want to tell me as well? It's just impossible, I look horrible compared to other guys my age, and that's just a fact. Although I did happen to be walking around in my flashy tournament gi, which I know drew some attention to me considering I was in a big park, not a dojo or anything. Darn, I didn't even have my hair spiked or anything. And I hadn't shaved in about four days, except for my chin which has been going about 9 days now. (workin on that goatee, ya know)
Can you tell I've never gotten a comment like that before? I mean look at how much I wrote, sheesh. And now that I got my day all typed out, I really need to go shave. -_-; See ya! |
