~ Part 23 ~
I hadn’t known this much happiness in so long. Just being by Setos side made my heart soar. He hadn’t forgot me! In fact I think he likes me even more. Sighing deeply to myself, we walked through the many streets of the market. He had his arm around me and I felt so safe. Mokuba had gone with Naru. Don’t really know what happened after that.

“What do you think of me as?” Seto asked.
“What do you mean?” I replied looking up at him.
“Like,” He thought a moment, “Well what do you think of me as. Like, I guess, how do you feel about me and where does that put me with you.”
A little confused I said, “Well, I feel that I love you and that I think of you as my soul mate.”

He pondered this a moment but didn’t say anything more. I could tell he had a lot on his mind. But what could he have meant by that? Is he having second thoughts about us? I guess a worried frown crossed my face because he leaned down and kissed me making all the worries go away. If he didn’t say anything about it anymore than I won’t dwell on it.

We went everywhere. Talking, laughing, and just having a good time. We had just bought some food when I saw Calla. A distant look was in her eyes. Yugi was walking next to her. He looked really mad. Her gaze didn’t even waver as she passed us. Almost like she was in a trance. A pang of guilt cut me and for some reason I couldn’t help but think it was my fault.

Reaching out I grabbed her arm and jerked her back. Her glazed eyes seemed to almost focus on me before they drifted off again. I tried to shake her, but no more response. Yugi stepped between us. Even though he was short he looked like he could spit venom right them.

“What are you doing?” Yugi asked
A little confused I said, “Trying to talk to Calla.”
“Why?”
“Why?” with a serious look I said, “Because she is my friend. What is wrong with her.”
“It is none of your concern.”
“Why hell it isn’t!” I grabbed Calla by the arm, “Come on were gonna wake you up.”
“Stop that!” Yugi yelled, “Calla get back here!”

She took my hand that was on her arm and ripped it off. “Calla…” I tried to start but she walked back to Yugi. With a smug look of his face he started off again. This time Kaiba stood in his way. Calla didn’t react to him but I could see something had to be wrong. She would never just look strait ahead without even a slightest bit of emotion.

“What did you do to her?” Kaiba asked in a threatening tone.
Looking a little annoyed now Yugi said, “I already said it was none of your concern” He tried to push past
Kaiba pushed him back, “No I think it is. What’s wrong with her? Don’t make me ask again.”
Gritting his teeth Yugi turned toward Calla, “Deal with him.”

Her sad eyes came up even with Setos. They seemed to focus on him. She hesitated, then lifted her hand. Realizing what she was going to do I ran toward them. As light started to form in her hand the glazed look returned. Just as the energy left her hand I shoved my Seto out of the way.

It was like hitting a brick wall. The blast hit me in the front knocking the air from my lungs. Then it spread through my body. It felt like I was on fire. My skin was like it was being ripped from my body. The world flew by me in a blur. Than I hit a wall.

I came to lying in the street as a worried Seto rushed over to me. Still groggy from what had happened I couldn’t piece it together. Shakily I got to my feet just as Seto got to me. Looking around I could tell I must have been pushed more than 100 yards. Dimly I could see Calla lower he hand and return behind Yugi. He just turned his head and continued on.

I tried to form the words but they didn’t come out well, “elp er ease…… I be k” I sat back down to collect my wits.

He gave me a quick kiss, than making sure I was ok, he rushed after then. I’m not sure what happened then. But I felt someone lifting me and the motion was too much. I went out again.

The darkness… I have never seen it so close before. My body wouldn’t respond to anything I tried to tell it to do. Images of Danielle and Seto flashed in my mind. I waved them away trying to make sense of my surroundings. The air was cold and it numbed my body. ‘Calla…’ Someone said my name. A voice of long ago. ‘Remember…’ A pain in my heart once again surfaced. ‘Remember who you are…’

Everything around me started spinning. Warmth started to spread back into my bones. I felt grass around me… as I was pulled into my past…

Sitting at my home, I looked to the boy I was teaching. He was the Pharaohs son. He was put in my care to teach him as much as I could before he learned too much to be a man. I smiled at him.

“So what have we learned?”
Sighing he stood and put his hands behind his back, “I have learned that when I bring pets to class to try and scare you they will be turned against me.”
“Very good now sit down and we will begin todays’ magic lesson”

We sat in the grassy field for hours on end as I tried to teach him enchantments of every kind. How to bring rain for the crops, how to work magic to help people, Magic to protect oneself… and the list went on and on. He was a natural at almost every sort of spell. He had the right blood in him. ‘His father was easy to train as well.’ I smiled at him again as he mastered yet another skill. But I told him to keep practicing to improve later.

When it was time for him to return to his home I opened the portal between his place and mine.

“When will you teach me that trick, Miss. Allac?” The boy asked
“I’m afraid that is still a long ways off my boy.” I said giving him an encouraging smile.

The fact that most boys never reached that stage didn’t concern me. He was getting old enough to start thinking for himself. The lizard trick was enough to prove that. ‘Don’t worry,’ I thought to myself, ‘He hasn’t done anything wrong yet. Teach him all you can before they grow up and learn to understand.’ Unfortunately he wasn’t able to grow up. That right was stolen from him.

Upon returning to the Pharaohs palace we were greeted with many of the pharaohs guards. They took the boy aside and talked to him. I was escorted to the throne room. The old pharaoh looked weary. He looked up at me with a sad look in his eyes.

“Allac, you have no idea of the gratitude you deserve from my family. But the times are changing and your presence in the palace has greatly disturbed my people. I am sorry but they wish me to tell you to go and never come back.” The Pharaohs worn face looked down in shame.

Walking to him I gently lifted his chin she I could see his eyes, “As you are my Pharaoh as well I can do nothing but obey. Your wish is my command.” I bowed

The boy I had been teaching rushed out from behind a pillar. Coming to a halt in front of me he clung to my legs.

“Please father don’t send her away. I still have so much to learn and I need her.”

Tears came to my eyes and as I forced them away I looked down at the boy. Kneeling down I said to him, “You have learned more than most students before you. Be proud of that.”
“But if I didn’t wish to learn so much…”
“It is of no fault of yours. It would have happened sooner or later. Most just don’t like my ways. Don’t worry about it. You did nothing wrong.”
The boys pleading eyes went to his father, “Please… What if I marry her? Than can she stay?”
Those words cut me to deep. A single tear fell, landing on the boys’ head. “Dear boy, I can not teach you anymore. Love can never be between a student and the teacher. My, tear now graces you but of those words you spoke I can never teach you again. Good bye my student. You were my most prized.”

With that I walked out the throne room, leaving the boy on the ground. I hate when they think of me in that way. That is why I must stop teaching them when they speak of such things. Sighing deeply I open the portal between our to worlds for the last time. I pass as a single loan teardrop falls to the cold floor.

Gasping at the pain tears force themselves to my eyes. ‘I was never supposed to have come back. Why did I come back?’ I opened my eyes to see the world again. I saw Seto on the ground with Yugi standing above him. I realized my hand was in the air concentrating on Seto. With a painful jerk I break the millenium spell Yami had placed on me. Free to move Seto jumped up and pushed Yugi to the ground with one of his arms behind his back.

“Wha…” I started
Yugi yelled at the top of his lungs, “Run! RUN or he’ll kill you!”

Seto jumped up and started at a dead run toward me.
