Last Post of the Week ^_~
Kibou: Well I posted so much this week, there’s nothing really to talk about. Friday I got some work to make up from Thursday. In History, the teacher asked if I had my collage done as well as some syllabus I had to get signed. I didn’t have the papers, just the collage. I said quietly, “so I’m screwed, right?” The teacher said “Yeah.” Apparently, we took a lot of notes Thursday. I knew this was going to be rough. I asked my friend Liz if I could borrow her notes. She really didn’t want to get them back out, but this girl I don’t really know, says, “You can borrow mine!” so I get to copy her notes into my notebook. *victory dance* I AM SO NOT TOTALLY SCREWED!
Yami: It takes a lot to get you down. It barely scratched the surface.
Kibou: That’s because someone taught me never to give up. ^_~
Yami: ... heh.

Anika had been quietly sound asleep since mid-day. It was now night and Anika was still soundly asleep, until the nightmare began.
Anika saw a small boy riding with a man on a camel. The small boy waved, and Anika waved back. The man had the camel stop and let the boy off. As soon as the boy touched the sand with his foot, the ground started shaking violently. The wind picked up, carrying sand with it. Anika hid her face in her arms, protecting herself from the wind-blown dust. She heard the boy cry out to her. She squinted out into the wind. Just in time to see the camel, the man, and the young boy being sucked underneath. “No!” Anika yelled. The wind started to die down. She reached to spot where the boy was, but it was too late. They were all gone.
Anika jolted up from her bed, breathing hard.
“Khalil....” she whispered. She took off the covers and ran through out the palace and out into the courtyard. She stumbled and let out a small cry. She reached the door and pounded on it. “No....” she murmured. Anika’s movements were enough to wake up Atem. He, too got out if his bed, and walked to his window. He pulled back the curtain to see Anika hunched over at the palace gate. Atem ran down the way Anika did. “What’s running through her mind?” he wondered on his way down. “No. NO. NO!” Anika yelled over and over, pounding the door.
“Anika.” Atem called out for her. She didn’t seem to hear him. “Anika!” he said again, putting a hand on her shoulder. Anika let out a gasp and she turned to Atem, tears streaming down her face. “What’s the matter?” Atem asked softly, wiping tears from her cheek. There was a long moment of silence as Anika calmed down. She debated to tell Atem or not.
“I-I had a nightmare...this same thing has happened for a long time, around this time of the year. Around my birthday.” Atem waited for her to continue. “These nightmares have people I loved, but then they disappear somehow. I always felt like I had caused of it, and I could have prevented it... this time, it’s strong.” Anika paused for a minute, “My birthday is in 2 days. I’m worried someone will get hurt. The person in my dream was outside of these walls. But I can’t get to them.... I don’t understand why this happens to me. I don’t think I can take it.....” Anika said as the tears started coming again. Atem stood Anika up, his hands on her shoulders.
“You are strong, Anika.” He began. “If you need someone to lean on, I’m always here for you.” Anika looked down.
“I’m not letting anyone die.” She murmured quietly as she and Atem walked back in the palace.
