"Take my hand, we'll make it I swear...."
"Livin' on a prayer" by Bon Jovi
Lucy, I'm home! I came back from my Colorado ski trip on April 1st, so it's been awhile since I've been home. Sorry I didn't get to update sooner, but I've been trying to get caught up in class. It's really hard to get caught up in an AP class, let me tell you. I'm failing miserablly just from the stuff I missed in that class. >< See what I mean?
Alright, about the ski trip. Well, on our way there, we got stuck in Amarillo for awhile by the huge storm system that made 63 tornados from the Texas panhandle all the way up to Nebraska. Yeah, we were in that. Managed to get stuck at a gas station for a good while. When we were about to leave, another band who was going to the same place as us came in because of the weather. Small world, huh? No, we didn't get hit by any tornados, luckily. Got a nice lightening show though. ^^
When we got there, it was so funny to watch everyone's reaction once they realized we where in Colorado and there was a bunch of snow on the ground. Ok, in Northeast Texas, we hardly get snow, and if we do get it, it quickly turns to ice, so we've never seen "real" snow. So when all the girls freaked out over it, I started laughing my head off. Sorry to say, but I've been to Colorado before, just never went skiing or been to Winterpark, so their reactions where really funny. It was really funny when we were going up the mountains and one of the girls' sister that tagged along (though she wasn't supposed to since she has failing grades. That, children, is called illegal. But her mom let her come. ><) looked over the side and kinda freaked out since she's afraid of heights and one of the Juniors went up behind her and said "Don't fall over!" and made her freak out even more. XD
I was one of the few who got to go to ski lessons when we got there since our rooms weren't ready. (2 hours late, and they only had 2 rooms ready. WTF mate?) Anywho, I just wanted all the guys there just to talk to me. The lessons guys were from all around the world, and had these wonderful accents. Ok, I'll admit, I'm a sucker for a really thick accent on a guy. It just sounds so awesome! Then again, to them, I probably have a really bad Texan drawl. *shrugs* There was a really nice Australian guy that helped me out a lot, he was really friendly. And our main teacher, the one who took us down the slope, was from Afghanistan. My god, he was handsome! *drools* =^^=
After getting lessons, I went to the hotel to get ready for the concert that night. But right when I took my boots, I found I had extremely bad Charlie Horses in my calves. Couldn't put any weight on my legs till I was forced to to get up to my room. Had to skip out on the concert, and remain cripple for a full day afterwards. >< Not fun. I heard it was a good thing I missed out on the concert, apparently the band did reeeeaaaallllyyy bad. *shrugs* Not my fault! :p But the day I was cripple, I managed to go to the hot tub and pool for awhile. It was so cool, it was snowing while I was in there! ^^ I also got to go souvenier shopping later that day, just to get around some.
The next day, I went skiing in the morning and shopping in the afternoon. Let me warn you: if you EVER go to Winter Park, prepare to bring LOTS of money, it's freakishly expensive there. I spent over $60 on souveniers, none of which where for me. But my mum did get me a shirt that I got to pick the prints for. The front has the ski festival thing on it, then a big 'WHUT?' on the back with a Winter Park underneath. ^^ If I could've, I would've gotten the shirt print that said 'Normal to bitch in 4.3 seconds'. Oh yeah, totally me!
We didn't get to stay very long since we were taking buses and it's about a 20-or so- hour drive. But get this: if we'd flown, we'd be able to stay longer, for the same price!! >< But the directors said the next chance they get, we're gonna go again, but fly instead. =^^=
Alright, I need to go finish up a few more things.
