Howdy from the person dead in a ditch!
Hey ya guys! Sorry I haven't been around, but I've already told ya why. Well, it seems SOMEONE hasn't been updating like they said they would,(*coughshelbycoughcough*)so I decided to do it myself. Well, it's been pretty boring down here so far. I have been makin' some pretty good money, over $100 a week, so that's good. Ok, I think I shall explain what exactly I'm doing for a summer job since I know ya'll might be pretty confused.
Alright, I'm working in a bee farm, or what we call the honey house. What I do is harvest the honey. I take the frames (that's what holds the beeswax, it looks kind of like a wooden rectangular picture frame with beeswax and honey on it) and load them into 3 huge turbines that spine them around really fast so that the honey drips off. Yes, there are bees flying around my head constantly, and no, we don't wear those big 'ol suits that seem to go with honey business. We do have those, plus the veil hats, but don't wear 'em. In fact, I've only had to wear the veil hat once in the 2 years I've been doing this, so it really isn't all that bad. And I only wore one 'cause the bees were extremely bad, only reason. Yes, honey does get all over the place, but that just comes with the business.
To all those wondering how many times I've gotten stung, I'll give you a few seconds to guess. .........Alright, now I'll tell ya. 5 times. Not in one day, but altogether. That's actually really good, seeing as some people can get up to 13 stings in one day. Ow. I think I should tell ya of the most painful sting so far: under my left eye. I wasn't even at work and I got stung! You see, I'ver been staying with my grandparents and they have a small bee yard out in the back yard. I was helpin' my grandpa dig up potatoes (I like to say taters now thanks to LOTR. ^~) and wham-o! A bee flies up into my eye and stings me! Let me tell ya, that smarted for quite awhile. I think I have a scar from it since it actually bled for a bit. XP
I miss you guys!!!
