The best of people always go first...
No, it's not a song. Man I wish there was a really sad looking smily-thingy on here....

I found out today that a girl I knew from last year in my science class died over the weekend due to liver failure. She had diabetes and had checked out of school last month to go into the hospital. She was on a donor list, but never made it. I didn't realize I knew her till about 2nd period and when it finally dawned on me. I didn't cry, but during band I came really close to it since one of the flutes knew her pretty well and was just not in the best of shape. And really, I probably wouldn't have been so affected if I hadn't started thinking: what if that was me? or what if that was one of my best friends/someone in the band? It's just one of those things that makes you really question what you've been doing and really cherish those who are around you. That's the third death we've had this year, which is pretty bad. At least now she's in a better place. Her sister's in my Journalism class, and I'm not expecting to see her back anytime soon.

Just Thought I'd let ya'll know what was going on. Here's a song that goes out to her and her family:
"Our Farewell" by Within Temptation

In my hands
A legacy of memories
I can hear you say my name
I can almost see your smile
Feel the warmth of your embrace
But there is nothing but silence now
Around the one I loved
Is this our farewell?

Sweet darling, you worry too much, my child
See the sadness in your eyes
You are not alone in life
Although you might think that you are

Never thought
This day would come so soon
We had no time to say goodbye
How can the world just carry on?
I feel so lost when you are not by my side
But there's nothing but silence now
Around the one I loved
Is this our farewell?

So sorry your world is tumbling down
I will watch you through these nights
Rest your head and go to sleep
Because my child, this is not our farewell
This is not our farewell

Shnugens

We will never forget you Autumn.
