Why do I love you? pt. 18!!! - longest I've stuck w/ something...ever!
Our favorite couple managed to finish eating and exit the resturaunt without the other group noticing. They wandered around the mall until they came to Spencers.
"Hey, Eric, let's go in here and look around." Cody led his boyfriend inside. Eric followed, looking around the store, happy with Cody's hand in his, until they spotted Steven and Tyler, two of their teammates.
"Hey Cody, Eric! Wazzup?!" Tyler clapped them on the back. Eric looked at his toes, suddenly finding them very ineresting.
"Oh, hmm, the ceiling, the sky, that disco ball..." Cody replied smoothly. Tyler quirked a brow.
"You haven't been hanging around that weird chick, have you? The one that seems to think I'm stupid?" Tyler asked. Steven rolled his eves and turned to Eric.
"Hey man, you upset about something?" He asked. He noticed the two were holding hands, something his teammate had yet to pick up on.
"Yeah, running into you two on our date." Cody answered for Eric as he pulled the smaller one closer. Tyler's and Steven's eyes widened comically.
"No, man, you can't be a fag! We like, changed in front of you!" Tyler snarled. Cody shrugged.
"Sorry to burst your bubble, but I only have eyes for Eric." Cody calmly pulled Eric out of the store before the guys did something.
Eric waited until they were out of the store before stopping Cody and saying, "I can't believe you just came out of the closet!"
Cody smirked. "Well, might as well get it over with. Tyler's probably going to be the worst one."
Eric pulled Cody into a deep kiss, feeling the happiest he'd felt in his life.

Why Do I Love You? pt. 17
First off, I'm sorry for the long wait, really. My muse was being a *ahem* and the HP book was a disappointment. Anyways, I'm back now that said muse inspired me (always without his knowledge)
Well.... "Where were we? Ah yes, I remember."
--------------------------------------------
The duo waited semi-patiently for the waiter to give them a table, since Cody was distracted by Eric. Finally, though they were able to get a seat. Cody sat down, looking cool but feeling nervous. Eric on the other hand, did as his stomach commanded and went straight to the buffet.
Cody took a deep breath and grinned. The date seemed to be going well. He closed his eyes and took a sip of his Coke.
Eric came back and sat down, cocking his head to the side as he looked at his boyfriend. "Cody? What's wrong? Aren't you hungry?"
Cody shrugged. "Not really. I was just thirsty."
Eric felt self-conscious, eating in front of Cody when Cody wasn't eating. At one point, he dropped his fork and spilled his drink reaching to pick it up. Cody laughed.
"I uh…" Eric stammered. Cody took Eric's hand.
"Hey, what's got you so nervous? You're jumpier than Cati was when I told her we were staying together, and she was actually jumping." Cody rested his head on the palm of his hand. Eric looked away.
"I feel like a pig, eating when you aren't." Eric muttered, embarrassed. Just then a kinda familiar squeal was heard. "Hey, doesn't that sound like…"
"Trouble with a capital K-A-T-I-E or however you spell her name?" Cody sounded kinda bright for a change of pace. Eric nodded glancing around. He spotted her with a couple people from school. They weren't looking at the couple, in fact, Cati had her face buried in a book.
"OMIGOSHILEE these guys are soooooo hott!" The nerdish chick said, giggling. Lyndsey, Marshal, a girl named Holly, and Holly's boyfriend, Dana, shook their heads. "What? They are! Lookie, see!"
Cody and Eric sniggered to themselves. "Oh man, she's got perfect timing… When she doesn't realize it."
"Yeah." Cody looked into Eric's eyes. "Hey, Eric…"
"Hmm…?" Eric asked. Cody leaned forward.
"I love you. And…" Cody held up a finger when Eric opened his mouth to respond. "I don't care who knows it."
Eric gasped, eyes widening. "Mean it?"
Cody nodded, grin spreading on his face. Eric squeezed Cody's hand.
"I love you, too." Eric whispered, his own face breaking out in a huge smile.

Why do I love you? pt 16
----Friday----
Cody kissed Eric needily in the darkened theater. Eric moaned, climbing over the armrest to sit on Cody's lap. Cody cupped the back of Eric's head and gently pulled back from him. He looked in Eric's eyes.
"Baby, are we even gonna pretend to watch the movie or just make-out for a solid two hours?" Cody asked. Eric giggled.
"Cody, it's just the previews. Besides, you started it. Yes, we can watch they movie, but I'm staying right here. My seat's not as comfy as yours." Eric pouted deliciously and Cody melted. He pulled Eric into another kiss.
The music started up, signaling the start of the movie. Eric curled up in Cody's lap while Cody wrapped his arms around him. Both had contented smiles on their faces.
The movie was a comedy/romance between some random loser and a successful CEO. The twist was, they were both men and the CEO is engaged with this pretty girl who's the daughter of the CEO of the company the CEO's company is merging with. (if that made sense to you, be happy, cause it barely made sense to me...and I wrote it)
Cody and Eric snuggled through out the entire movie, kissing in the make-out scenes. In the scene where the CEO choses to go with the girl, Eric started crying a little and cody hugged him closer. Then, in the final scene, where the CEO finally tells the loser he can't live without him, Cody risked cupping Eric's bum.
Eric flushed faintly and laid his head on Cody's shoulder. "We, uh, should get out of here...the movie's over. And, I'm hungry."
Cody smiled at his boyfriend. "Yeah, okay."
The couple stood up and headed out of the theater, into the mall. Cody took Eric's hand. "So, baby, where do you want to go?"
Eric shrugged and leaned against Cody. "Why not, ummm, Chinese?"
"Sounds good ta me."

Why do I love you? pt. 15
The game was on. Eric and Cody went all-out against each other; anyone who tried to get between them had a death wish. Luckily, they were playing by numbers and the duo had the same number. So, nobody who did have a death wish could act on it. The teachers got to the point where they were scared to call out the boys' number.
"Psst, Cati. Do you know why they're acting so vicious?" Marshal asked. Cati broke out into a huge, yaoi fangirl grin. Lyndsey shook her head.
"Of course I do, dear Mar-Mar, it's quite simple. Body contact. You don't get as much contact from playing nice, now do you?" Cati said. Marshal quirked a brow.
"Uh, why do they want contact? They're both boys." Marshal looked confused. Cati and Lyndsey laughed. "What's so funny?"
"Cati stays up all night to come up with ways to freak people out and you're ruining her evil plans." Lyndsey answered. Cati nodded and headed out on the floor, grimacing as the teachers called out a second number...the boys'.
"Shit." She said so quietly the teachers didn't notice, mainly because it was gym and they never do. The puck was thrown out and Cati knocked it as far away from her as possible. Eric hit Cody's shin 'accidently' when he went for it, causing Cody to 'accidently' fall on Eric.
Cati and Amber ran over and Cati sent the puck to the goal. Amber deflected it and Cody knocked Eric out of the way with his butt, sending it over to Cati, who wisely ran away from it. Why? Because Cody and Eric went for it at the same time, colliding at the exact spot Cati would have been, had she not ran.
-----after the game-----
Cody and Eric entered the locker room, each sporting some interesting bruises and stupid grins. They grabbed their clothes and headed to the showers to change. As soon as they where alone, Cody pushed Eric against the wall. He rested his forehead against Eric's.
"You okay? I wasn't too rough out there, was I?" Cody asked, kissing Eric's nose.
"Not at all, just perfect. Too bad though...the second time you ended up on top of me would've made for the perfect kiss." Eric pouted. Cody smirked.
"Now, now no exhibition till Friday." Cody said, licking his lips to make Eric blush. Which he did.

Why do I love you pt 14
"Whatever. So, ready for Friday?" Cody asked. Eric blushed.
"Yes." Eric answered. He was so excited, finally they would have a first official date!
"Good." Cody said, grinning. He pulled two hockey sticks out of the barrel and handed on to Eric. "So, ready to play?"
"Yeah. Sucks that we're on different teams, and you have Cati on yours." Eric said. Cati stepped up behind them, reaching between for her stick.
"Ah, but not as well as Cody, eh? And, I take offense to that. I am better at this than the last thing we did in here, which you got out of." Cati said, stalking off afterwards to join her friends. Cody laughed, but Eric frowned.
"Yeah, make it sound like I hate this class as much as you do." He called after her.
"You just like the showers." Lyndsey laughed.
"Geez, I didn't mean to make Eric act like a PMSing Lou..." Cati whispered to Amber. Amber laughed. Cody shook his head and wrapped and arm around Eric.
"What's the matter?" Cody asked. Eric pouted.
"She ruined the moment..." Eric whined. Cody chuckled and kissed Eric's cheek. Nobody saw because everyone was talking, facing the other way, or their view was blocked by the other people. "Or not..."
Cody laughed. "So...ready to play?"
"Yeah." Eric chuckled, taking Cody's hand for a minute before they went to the opposite sides of the gym.

Why do I love You? pt 13
Cody took a steadying breath before opening the door. He saw Eric sitting there with a smile on his face.
"Hi Eric." Cody said in greeting. It came out a bit more grumbled than he'd wanted. Eric cocked his head to one side.
"Cody, what's wrong?" Eric asked, confused. Cody wasn't thinking of leaving him, was he? No, he wouldn't...
Cody sat down at the foot of Eric's bed. He sighed. "I just...What did you want to tell me?"
Eric bit his lip nervously. "Well, I wanted to say I'm sorry for not being more understanding of your not wanting to come out yet...and um, I want to try to..."
Cody felt like a weight had been taken off his chest. He'd misunderstood completely. Eric still wanted to be in a relationship with him. Cody felt so relieved. He hugged Eric so tightly and suddenly it sort of became a tackle, forcing Eric to lay back on his bed.
"C-Cody?!" Eric squeaked out, not sure what to mae of this reaction. Cody kissed him softly on the lips.
"You...idiot...there's nothing...you didn't do anything wrong....I'm the one who's been stupid. I love you, and it's time I started acting like it." Cody said, laughing from relief. "I am going to take you out on an actual date when you get better, okay?"
Eric's mouth dropped open. He couldn't believe what Cody was saying. "What?"
Cody smirked. "You heard me. You and me. A date. As soon as you get better. Got it, babe?"
Eric nodded, feeling dizzy, but allowed Cody to kiss him again until he was light-headed.
---Ah, not over (cause I'm evil)---
In about a month and a half, Eric got his casts taken off. He and Cody still hadn't come out, except to those who'd found out before. Now, it's three days after he got his casts off during gym.
"Man, FINALLY something I'm half-decent at!" Cati said, laughing to Marshal and Lyndsey.
Cody overheard that and quirked a brow at Eric. "No, not really. I think she just likes it better..."
"Whatever. So, ready for Friday?" Cody asked. Eric blushed.

Why do I love you? pt. 12
The next day.....
Cody sat in his history class nervously tapping his pencil against his desk. It was starting to annoy Cati and Lyndsey to the point that they wanted to take the damn thing from him...but this is a school and pencils are kinda, you know, needed.
"Will you flippin stop it? Headache coming on now." Lyndsey exclaimed. Cati gave Lyndsey a 'please don't kill him' look.
"Whatever. A headache is nothing to how nervous I am right now." Cody said, a bit too loudly for the teacher's taste.
"Cody, quit making so much noise and start on that worksheet you've had for fifteen minutes." The teacher scolded and started walking around the room.
"Psst, Cati, I can't focus, what are the answers?" Cody whispered. Cati rolled her eyes.
"No duh. A, A, B, D, C." Cati whispered back. Cody hastily wrote down the answers.
"Thanks." Cody replied. He resumed the pencil tapping. Lyndsey looked like she wanted to stab him with it. Cati glanced at her watch.
"Lynds, please, bear with him for the next 57 seconds." Cati pleaded. "Cause then, he's leaving to get broken up with by his SOS."
--------Meanwhile at the hospital-----
Eric was smiling, which was odd since he was eating hospital pancakes. He was eager for Cody to get here. Finally, everything would be good, maybe even wonderful, depending on how Cody reacted.
Last night, after he'd finished talking to Cody, Eric's parents had stopped in to see if he was alright. After assuring them he was okay, Eric had convinced them he was old enough to stay by himself. So he left alone to have some delightful dreams involving his boyfriend.
And now, he was eating th disgusting pancakes with a delighted smile on his face when Nurse jim walked in. Eric waved at the nurse.
"Hi Eric, you look happy this morning. It must be big, because I ate those pancakes and nearly threw up." Nurse Jim said in greeting. Eric laughed.
"Cody is coming over so we can talk. And, he isn't mad at me for acting like a jerk yesterday!"
------Cody, in the car on his way----
"Now Cody, just remember to be honest, okay?" His mom told him. Cody nodded.
Soon enough, they arrived at the hospital. His mom told him to call and she'd come pick him up. Cody got out of the car feeling like he would rather die than got to Eric's room.
Tears filled his eyes when he entered the elevator. He wiped them away haphazardly.

Why do I love you? pt. 11
"Burning anything takes fire, which you don't have much of at the moment..."
Cody sighed, accepting defeat. Then he undid his seatbelt and climbed into the back with Cati. His mom looked confused.
"What's going on here? Why did you slap her? Answer me, Cody!" His mom asked, upset that her son wouldn't tell her anything anymore.
"Answer the woman, Codyman, she is your mom and kinda knows where you live.... You don't need anyone else mad at you." Cati reasoned, settling back in her seat to watch the show. Now here was more of the kinda thing she always wanted to see happen to him. No had about it, he deserved this now.
"Fine." Cody sighed, feeling like he was being kicked while down. He hadn't come out to his parents, or anybody but Eric, before this happened, and now, five other girls knew, and he was being forced to tell his mom. In short, life couldn't get any more frustrating. "Well, basically...."
-----I'm enjoying making his life suck------
------Oh, and to Eric------
"...So that's basically it. My only real supporter here is an inane, yaoi-sessed genius with, in her words, no life, who I've known for pretty much ever, but am not actually friends with.... What do I do?" Eric asked, squeezing the hospital pillow closer to himself. Nurse Jim nodded.
"Well, you need to be a little more understanding of your boyfriend being wary of the public. You two are athletes, right? The team may not like it very much. Plus, there's the fact that you two are in high school and kids are cruel. But," Jim held up a hand to stop Eric from interrupting, "if you two already know that at least half the school is okay with it, he should at least try it, by starting small. Like holding hands or something. And ease into it."
Eric nodded. He decided he liked Nurse Jim, and if he or Cody ever landed here again (hopefully not by a car), it wouldn't be too bad. Nurse Jim didn't even seem to care that he was gay.
"Do you think Cody will ever speak to me again?" Eric asked. Nurse Jim thought a minute.
"Call him and see, you have the phone right beside you, just press 9 first. Now, I've got to make sure no one keeled over before I leave. My shift is over, but I'll be back tomorrow!" Nurse Jim said, leaving. He waved. "See you then!"
Eric smiled and waved back. Smiling, he picked up the phone and started to dial Cody's cell. Maybe things could work out after all?
-------back to the dimwitted duo------
"...and that's basically it." Cati said. She'd had to pick up when Cody had been too choked up to talk.
"Uh, wow. Too much at once, I need a minute." Cody's mom said. She felt like she'd been kept very out of the loop. After a minute she said, "So, what are you going to do now? Poor Eric probably thinks you don't love him at all."
"That's what I gathered from how he acted back there." Cati said. Cody sighed.
How could I treat him so poorly? And act so mean? He thought to himself.
Just then his phone rang. He pulled it out of his pocket and flipped it open.
"Hello?"
“Um, hi. Cody? A-are you mad at me?” Came the timid reply from the other end. Relief filled Cody as he realized it was Eric.
“No baby, of course not. Why would I be? I’m the one who’s been a jerk.”
“I did act a bit mean when you were here.” Cody smiled softly, feeling glad Eric was still, at least, willing to put up with him in a phone call.
“Oh, Eric, you were hurt and upset. It’s fine. Are you feeling any better, you know, physically?”
“Yes, Nurse Jim gave me plenty of meds before he left.” Cody was genuinely happy about that. At least, his love wasn’t suffering any more pain.
“That’s good. I hate seeing you in pain.”
“Um, do you think you could come back tomorrow? We need to talk, and it isn’t something I want to do over the phone…” When Cody heard that, he felt like he’d been stabbed. Eric was going to….going to….
“Yes.” Was all Cody could manage as a weak reply.

Why do I love you? pt. 10
Eric stared at the ceiling, trying hard not to cry.
I want him. I know I want him, but he'll just be the same. He'll never change. It's hard to accept, but he never really cared. If he did, he wouldn't be so afraid, would he?
Eric began to cry softly, and the nurse noticed. He came over and sat in a chair by the bed.
"What's wrong kid? Something hurt too bad? Need more meds?" Eric shook his head. "Does this have something to do with your visiters earlier?"
Eric nodded and sighed. The nurse nodded. "Well, if you need to talk about it, I, Nurse Jim, will listen, and don't worry I won't tell anybody."
Eric bit his lip and decided things couldn't get any worse. "Why not? Well, my boyfriend..."
-----to Cati----
Cati dialed her home number, again, to try to get a ride.
Stupid Cody had to leave without me...and I can't get through...Someone's probably on the phone and not thinking about flashing over to the incoming calls...Well, if I must wait, I'll figure out how to get Cody and Eric back in each other's good graces...Nothing better to do anyways....
Cati sat on the curb and closed her eyes, when a car pulled up. She opened her eyes and looked at it. Inside was Cody.
"What are you waiting for? Need a ride?" Cody asked, brow furrowed.
"Yup! Thank you." Cati hopped up and slid into the backseat. "And I'm sorry for cursing you in my head during my entire walk downstairs."
"I apologize for slapping you." Cody said, and his mother looked alarmed.
"You slapped her? Why would you do that?" His mom asked, while at the same time, Cati said, "Wow, you know how to use a big word. Okay, it's cool. You were, um, well, I don't think they've come up with a word for what you were...hehehe. So what do you need now? Last I heard, you wanted me to stay out of it."
"I thought I burned that bridge." Cody mumbled to himself, but Cati heard it.
"Burning anything takes fire, which you don't have much of at the moment..."

Why do I love you? pt. 9
"Oh crap! I never actually handed this to Eric..... Oh well, he's got Cody's roses...Cody is a dumbass. I've known Eric longer than he has, and I don't think he's stopped liking him just yet..."
Cati pulled off the petals as she walked, trying to figure out what to do.
-----to Cody-----
Cody opted for the stairs, seeing as he needed to move to keep from going crazy after being forced to see how awful he'd been to the most important person in his life.
what am I going to do now? I need Eric. I can't live without him....but I'm being selfish again, aren't I? Dammit, I need to quit being a coward and treat him a wonderfully as he deserves. And, how do I know Cati only got the girls' opinions anyways? She could have gotten guys' too. I'll have to ask...no, I think I just burned that bridge back upstairs....Then I'll just have to ask around for myself!
Cody flung open his mom's door and slid into the seat, feeling determined.
Well, he didn't break up with me, so maybe there is a chance. I hope...
----- to Eric ----
Eric stared at the ceiling, trying hard not to cry.
