Why do I love you? pt. 8
Sorry for the delay, my internet got shut off.
----------------------------------------------
"I'm sorry Eric, I never, I mean..." He tried to speak, but the words got all jumbled.
Eric turned away and Cody felt like his heart was being stabbed repeatedly with a knife. Cati bit her tongue and wished she was anywhere but there. She didn't enjoy seeing Cody like this. Eric sighed.
"Whatever. So, Cati, what's that you have there?" Eric asked scornfully. Cati sat there with a blank look on her face until she remembered the pathetic excuse for a flower in her hand.
"Oh, a, uh, flower, for you, to uh, say I'm sorry for getting you ran over?" She said, holding it out to Eric. Eric smiled.
"Thank you. Nice to know some people aren't afraid of expressing themselves." Eric felt like he was on the brink of tears. He wished Cody would kiss him, but knew Cody would just be the same coward as ever.
"It's not the same thing and you know it. I brought you these." Cody said, shoving the roses into Eric's arms. He was hoping Eric's eyes would light up, like they had when he'd bought Eric that bag of Dove chocolate. Once. On that field trip. Two weeks after they'd gotten together.....six months ago....And not once since has he given Eric anything he wanted, which wasn't much. Damn, I really have been a bad boyfriend because of my paranoria.....and Eric, Eric has put up with me for so long...
"So what, I like Cati's better." Eric closed his eyes. A male nurse with frumply black hair came in.
"Alright kids, Eric needs some rest. You two go on home now. Okay?" The nurse said, pushing the two out the door. Cody and Cati walked to the end of the hall.
"Hey, Cody, uh.."Cati tried to find something to say. Cody spun around and slapped her.
"You just can't stay out of it, can you?" Cody said, angry that he'd been forced to see just how stupid he'd been when it came to Eric. Cati put a hand on her stinging cheek. Cody gasped and stormed off.
"Eh, what just happened?" Cati blinked and looked in her other hand, where the mangled yellow flower still was. Her eyes widened. "Oh crap! I never actually handed this to Eric..... Oh well, he's got Cody's roses...Cody is a dumbass. I've known Eric longer than he has, and I don't think he's stopped liking him just yet..."

Why do I love you? pt. 7
Cody ran out of the car as soon as it stopped. He needed Eric. He needed to apologize; this was all his fault. He stopped at the information desk.
"Wh-where is E-Eric?" He panted before seeing Cati heading down a hallway, alone. Not bothering to listen to the nurse, he followed, only stopping to buy some pink and red roses from the gift shop, when He'd passed by and noticed Cati had a flower.
When he got to the room, he heard Eric's voice, and it killed him.
"I don't feel so good." Eric said, voice all sad. "But, the arm and leg are alright. My heart hurts worse..."
Cody knocked on the wall and stepped in. Eric ignored him and Cati glared. Cody set the flowers down next to Eric and took his hand.
"I'm sorry Eric, I never, I mean..." He tried to speak, but the words got all jumbled.

Why do I love you? pt 6
"Gym...Can you guys..er girls, let me through, I need to get a ride to the hospital." Cody said, wiping his eyes. The girls nodded. "And, um, don't tell anybody. Eric will probably break up with me after this..."
"Just go see him, you Jackfucker." Lyndsey said.
Cody left and headed to the parking lot, where he took out his cell.
"Mom, I need a ride to the hospital..."
----------Scene change-------
Cati paced back and forth in the hospital room, waiting for the doctor to clear her so she could go and get Eric a flower or something.
"It is kinda my fault for reporting back so soon. But mainly, it's Cody's for being an idiot." She mumbled to herself.
The doctor came in and cleared her, so she headed down to the gift shop. That's when she remembered she had no money. But outside the main doors, they had some yellow flowers growing. Cati shrugged and picked the sickly looking one. Then she hurriedly went to Eric's room. Number 269.
Eric was all banged up. His left leg was in a sling and his right arm was bandaged up. However, he was awake.
"Hey Eric, you don't look too good." Cati said.
"I don't feel good." He answered.

Why do I love you? pt. 5
Just then, an ambulance came by. They took Eric, Cati, and the driver to the hospital. Everyone else was taken back to class. Cody went to the bathroom and started crying, little did he know he was in the GIRLS' BATHROOM.
Lyndsey decided she'd had enough of French class and so went to the bathroom, as it was the easiest excuse. She was worried about Cati and Eric, even though she wasn't showing it. When she got there, she heard some sobbing.
The voice was masculine, so she was curious. She pushed open the stall and saw Cody bent over the toilet, bawling like a baby. When he saw he, he didn't respond, just kept crying. Then, Jessica, Marcie, and Dorothea came in.
"What're you looking at, Lyndsey?" Marcie asked.
"It's Cody. I think he's broke." Lyndsey replied. She reached a hand and set it on his shoulder.
"Don't touch me. Go away and let me die. If Eric dies, then there's no point in living anymore. It's MY fault. I was the person who made him so upset he ran off." Cody wailed. He'd never do this, break down like this. But it was his fault, all his fault that his love was in the hospital, fighting for his life.
"Come on, Eric isn't gonna die. He probably just broke his leg." Lyndsey said.
"What did you say to him anyways?" Dorothea asked.
"I said I didn't want to show PDA. After I told him that if Cati got good feedback I would. He just wanted everone to know we were together...." Cody cried.
"Wait so, you two are a couple?" Jessica asked.
"Didn't Cati tell you?" He asked, surprised. Cody had thought about it and figured she might've let it slip.
"No, actually, she didn't even act differently then normal at science....How long has she known?" Lyndsey asked.
"Gym...Can you guys..er girls, let me through, I need to get a ride to the hospital." Cody said, wiping his eyes. The girls nodded. "And, um, don't tell anybody. Eric will probably break up with me after this..."

Why Do I Love You? Pt. 4
"Well, did you find out?" Eric asked, hopeful look in his eyes.
"Yeah." Cati said. "And the verdict is, if you're not together, you should be. Now Cody, please, for the love of all things yaoi, take your boyfriend and kiss him. Preferably now."
Cody sighed. He wasn't ready just now to go PDA. He may want to show everyone Eric was his, but what would the males of the schools think? The locker room thing could get awkward.
"No." Cody said. Eric and Cati just looked at him, stunned. "I won't."
Tears welled up in Eric's eyes as his hope to be a normal couple were dashed. He stood up and ran out of the auditorium. Cati glared at Cody.
"Why the hell not you fucked-up jackfucker?" Cati hissed in Cody's ear.
"The guys. You got the girls' opinion, but it's the guys' that matters." Cody said, mildly impressed Cati would use that kind of language to stick up for Eric. "And, when did you step-up to the big leagues?"
"I hang out with Lyndsey too much. And, that was the most sexest thing I've ever heard, but I'll attempt to do some damage control with your BF. Mainly because I still have no life." Cati said, standing up and running after Eric.
She ran out of the auditorium and out of the building, looking for Eric. A car pulled out of the parking lot, but Cati was looking so hard for Eric, she wasn't concerned. Glancing down the drive to the gates, she finally spotted Eric heading back to the school.
"Eric! Eric! Come on, we're going to get structured lunch if we don't get back two minutes ago." Cati called. Eric looked up.
Then everything went slow-mo. The car from before's brakes squealed and Eric crashed into the windshield. Cati screamed. Then everything went sped-up as Cati ran over to Eric and the car. She checked Eric's pulse and the driver started to freak out.
Just then the assembly let out. A few teachers and half of the students headed down.
"What were you two doing out here, Cati?" on of the teachers asked. Cati looked up.
"E-Eric got upset about something someone said and s-stormed out of the assembly and I ran after him to...to get him to come back. I didn't w-want him to get in trouble. He was h-heading back when the ca-car came." Cati replied, voice shakey. Lyndsey and Cody came over from opposite sides of the crowd.
"Cati, are you okay?" Lyndsey asked. Cati shook her head and started retching facing away from the crowd.
"Oh my God. This is all my fault." Cody whimpered in shock.
Just then, an ambulance came by. They took Eric, Cati, and the driver to the hospital. Everyone else was taken back to class. Cody went to the bathroom and started crying, little did he know he was in the GIRLS' BATHROOM.

Why Do I Love You? pt.3
“What are you? My mother? Besides, you can’t deny the fact you enjoyed the time without me." Cati chuckled.
"I...have nothing to add." Lyndsey said. Jonathan laughed.
"So, anyways, I was wondering if any of you wanted to red this yaoi I found on the internet, it's super lemony!" Cati said mainly to Jonathan, who frequently borrowed her yaoi mangas just for the lemons.
"Are there pictures?" Jonathan asked. Cati shook her head 'no.' "Then no..."
Lyndsey however started nodding.
"So you want the address?" Cati asked. Lyndsey nodded again. "Then I'll IM it to you tonight."
"Good." Lyndsey said. Just then the teacher passed out a worksheet and sat down at his desk, never to be seen again.
"Speaking of yaoi, did anyone see Eric in gym class? He was totally doing his worst against Cody! When he went against Lyndsey's team he was like superdude, then he's facing Codyman and he's like ...... well me....." Cati said, preparing to gauge her friends reactions.
"Yeah, and I saw them a few days ago sitting with Eric in Cody's lap." Jessica, who'd come over to get the answers for the worksheet from Cati. "I think they are a secret couple."
Cati was so glad she was a fangirl and known to grin madly at all mentions of yaoi, or someone might have noticed that she knew something.
"They look so cute together. If they're not they should be." Cati said. Everyone else nodded.
The intercom came on. "Good afternoon, would all students who are on the honor roll please report to the auditorium."
"Go." The teacher said from behind his laptop.
Everyone grabbed their stuff and went to the auditorium. When Cati entered, she was waved over by Cody and Eric. She sat down by the couple.
"Well, did you find out?" Eric asked, hopeful look in his eyes.
"Yeah." Cati said. "And the verdict is, if you're not together, you should be. Now Cody, please, for the love of all things yaoi, take your boyfriend and kiss him. Preferably now."

Why Do I Love You? - Post 2
>“I don’t think so, but I can get my friends’ opinions just to be sure. I’ll give you the verdict as soon as it comes in. But why should it matter? You really like each other, ne? Why do you care? Seriously, I don’t even like you guys that well and I think it’s great you’re together!”
“Thanks, Cati. But, why exactly do you want to help us?” Cody inquired suspiciously. Cati shrugged. “Uh….Because I don’t have a life? I’m a yaoi fangirl? I think you make a cute couple? Duh?” Cati rolled her eyes. “Seriously, you’re thick. As in stubborn!” She added as Cody opened his mouth to say something. “I’ll tell you the verdict after school. Meet me by the pay phones at the entrance. I gotta go or the teacher might actually kill me this time. Later gators!” Cati double timed it to her science class. Eric and Cody stared after her for a moment, too stunned to move. Then they shook their heads and, since the halls were clear, gave each other a goodbye kiss before heading to class. Cati collapsed into her chair in a fit of fangirl giggles after she entered the science room. The three girls sitting at her table looked at her for a moment, before resuming what they’d been doing beforehand. One of the boys behind her looked at her with a raised eyebrow. “Hey Cati, what’s so funny?” The guy asked. Cati turned, calming herself down. “Nothing, Jonathan. I just remembered a scene from a lemony yaoi I read last night. The uke was Johnny and the seme was Dally from The Outsiders. Johnny was clueless about how sex worked with two guys and Dally had to explain it.” Cati made up off of the top of her head. “Is that the only thing you think about?” The girl on Cati’s right asked, half rolling her eyes. Cati turned to her. “No Lyndsey, sometimes I think about science and how to freak you out next.” Cati answered. Lyndsey shook her head. Then she looked at Cati with a questioning look. “What did Cody and Eric want? They were practically dragging you over by yourselves.” Lyndsey inquired. “They wanted to know if I would tutor them in Algebra, History, and Science. They need a C+ average to play sports and they’re doing bad.” Cati lied, a grin playing on her lips. “So, why’d they steal you away for ten minutes?” Lyndsey pressed. “What are you? My mother? Besides, you can’t deny the fact you enjoyed the time without me.

Why Do I Love You - Story Post 1
The game ended and the teachers told the students to get dressed. Sighing, Eric put the ball away. As he entered the boys' locker room, Cody slammed his hands on his shoulders.
"Jeez, man. What's with you? It's like you don't even try against me. Do you want people to get suspicious?" Cody hissed in Eric's ear.
They heard the others start to come in, so they slipped into the showers, so as to not be overheard. Once safely out of sight, Eric wrapped his arms around Cody's waist, laying his head on Cody's shoulder.
"Why would they get suspicious? You're not the only one on the team. And, I told them I had a stomach ache." Eric answered.
"Some of those girls know, I think. Caitie and Lyndsey seem to at least." Cody said.
"What's so bad about that? If everyone knew, we wouldn't have to sneak around..." Eric backed away, tears in his eyes.
Cody sighed and pushed Eric against the wall. He kissed him gently. Cody waited until Eric had calmed down before backing off.
"You know why we can't do that. Our lives wouldn't be the same. None of the would hang out with us again, and everyone would be disgusted. I don't want you to go through that." Cody murmured softly.
"I don't care what they think. If they can't accept us, then they suck." Eric answered gloomily.
Trying to cheer up his boyfriend, Cody cracked a joke. "Not as well as I do though."
Cody chuckled, Eric scowled.
"This isn't funny, Cody!" Eric cried. He pushed Cody away and stormed off.
Cody sighed and followed him. Most of the guys had already left, so the couple hurriedly got changed. Cody carefully snuck a glance at Eric, wondering if things would get better between them.
Eric pulled on his hoodie and hurried outside. He thought about how he’d gotten together with Cody.
They were the last ones in the locker room. Eric had been crushing on Cody since they’d met and he was trying to hide his embarrassment about changing in front of him. It was hard because Cody wouldn’t stop looking at him.
“You’re blushing. Why?” Cody asked. Then he added, mild anger in his voice that confused Eric, “Did some girl flirt with you? One you like?”
Eric shook his head ‘no’ and pulled on his shirt while keeping his eyes on the floor. Cody smiled and moved closer to Eric. Lightly grasping Eric’s chin, Cody made him look into his eyes.
“You’ve changed in front of guys before, right?” Cody asked softly. Eric’s eyes widened. He couldn’t like him back, could he?
“Y-Yes.” Eric mumbled meekly. Cody leaned closer.
“Then why are you so embarrassed? You like me or something?” Cody leaned closer as Eric’s eyes clenched shut, so sure Cody was fooling around and would tell everyone about him being gay. “Is that a yes? Good. I like you, too.”
Eric’s eyes shot open, and Cody moved in the last few inches, bringing their lips to meet in an electrifying kiss. Their tongues met in a passionate dance, stroking, teasing the other, neither fighting for dominance. They stayed like that until the need for air became too much. As they separated, Cody pulled Eric close, resting his chin on the top of Eric’s head.
“So, what happens now?” Eric softly wondered out loud. He wanted Cody to go steady, but he
was unsure what Cody wanted.
“Why don’t we keep things quiet for now?” Cody asked softly. Eric moved to look up in Cody’s eyes.
“You mean we’d be together, but no one would know?” Eric asked, making sure he understood.
“Yeah, for now at least.” Cody assured. Eric smiled.
“Okay.” He said leaning up for another passionate kiss before the new couple headed to gym class.
Everything had been perfect at first, but seeing other couples hugging or kissing in public made Eric crave more. Eric sighed as he sat down on the bleacher. He sighed again when Cody joined him.
“Talk to me, Eric. Tell me why you are so set on us showing PDA.” Cody whispered, wrapping an arm around his love.
“I just get so jealous of the other couples and I want everyone to know you’re mine and I’m yours.” Eric whispered back, wanting to lay his head on Cody’s shoulder.
“Then, know this: I love you, no one else. I’m just afraid of everyone else’s reactions would be.” Cody murmured. Eric looked him in the eyes and nodded.
“I love you, too. I guess I can wait for that a little longer.” Eric complied.
Cody smiled. Out of the corners of his eyes, he glanced around to make sure no one was watching. Then he gave Eric a quick peck on the cheek. Eric blushed and smiled. Cody smiled back.
Unfortunately for them, a goofy looking girl came out of the girls’ locker room in time to see the exchange. Her eyes widened before she broke out in a grin and squealed. She ran over to the boys.
“Well?” She asked crossing her arms and trying to look angry.
Cody and Eric looked up in alarm. Fearing the worst, Cody jumped away from Eric when he saw the girl.
“C- Cati, what d-do you mean?” Cody uncharacteristically stammered. Cati laughed.
“I know we aren’t exactly in the same circle, but I would like to know if I’m sitting next to the most kawaii couple 3rd period.” Cati mock pouted. “Of course, it’s not like I haven’t suspected. I mean, Eric, I’ve wondered about you a while. You have all the characteristics of a uke. I know, cause I’ve read loads of yaoi. I like it so much I prefer it to het. But you don’t understand one word of what I just said and think I insulted you or something…..”
Cati trailed off noticing the nervous looks on both Cody’s and Eric’s faces. She smiled softly at them.
“Learn otaku. Yaoi is a genre in which two guys, like yourselves, fall in love. Het is straight. Kawaii means cute. Uke means …….. um I’m sooooo not getting into that with you.” Cati explained.
“How do you know everything? Seriously!” Cody almost yelled. Cati just stared at him a minute.
“I do NOT know everything. I’m just a rabid, book-loving fan-girl. Honestly! So….how long have you two been a coup-AH!” Cati was cut off by the boys dragging her farther away from the others.
“Not so loud.” Eric hissed in her ear.
“Sorry. Geez, what’re you guys hiding in the closet for, anyways? Half of everybody already suspects. What do you think we girls are giggling about when we’re not talking about manga, anime, schoolwork, clothes, or our own boyfriends? We are discussing whether or not you two are together.” Cati inquired, looking at the two guys seriously.
“WHAT?!!!” The boys shouted in stereo. Cati rolled her eyes as the gym teachers yelled at them to be quiet. Then the bell rang and they could resume talking.
“Now who’s being loud? Gol-lee, you two are thick. And I don’t wanna hear about that right now.” She added, seeing Cody’s mouth forming a smirk.
“About what right now?” Eric asked, confused, having missed the smirk. Cati shook her head.
“About the fact that there is actually somebody who’s a bigger perv than me… I wanted to keep my title a little longer.” Cati stuck her tongue out at the boys. “See ya tomorrow!”
“Don’t tell anyone!” Cody hissed. Eric got this thoughtful look on his face.
“Wait a moment…Do the girls seem disgusted by the thought of us together?” Eric asked. Cati knew him, and yaoi comics, well enough to know what he was hoping. Cody looked nervous, half hoping the answer was ‘no the girls don’t’. He really did want to show everybody that Eric was his, he just didn’t want it to cause problems for his boyfriend.
“I don’t think so, but I can get my friends’ opinions just to be sure. I’ll give you the verdict as soon as it comes in. But why should it matter? You really like each other, ne? Why do you care? Seriously, I don’t even like you guys that well and I think it’s great you’re together!”
