Half Term, Woo!
Got a week off from school for half-term, and no, I won't be spending it productively. Sleep, lazing, eating, and playing games are about all thats on the schedule right now. Oh, and some homework, but I'm not too worried about that right now.
Anyway, in my last post I talked about NFL Street not being a game I would pull my hair out over... how wrong I was. It has the most biased comeback A.I. ever in a game, and once you get 2 touchdowns ahead, you may as well put the pad down and walk out of the room, because you are not going to make any difference to the result of the ensuing plays. Plus the fact that you have to use your own team which, at its origin is far, FAR worse than any NFL team on the game. I was finally able to recruit Ray Lewis (Baltimore Ravens LB) into my roster today, so for the first time, I have a guy that can tackle. Might be able to get a turnover before long, who knows?
Anyway, the weekend flew by in a mix of watching sport and drinking. The 2004 rugby Six Nations began last weekend, and Wales began their campaign with an awe inspiring vistory over Scotland. Last year, as any of you that were subject to my whining will know, Wales didnt win a single game... so already we're in better shape than last year. Ireland next weekend, and I am quietly confident that we can upset the Irish, who suffered a defeat to France on the weekend.
Last night I stayed up to watch the NBA All-Star game, which wasn't bad. TMac and VC basically owned the show with some amazing ducks, but the Western All Stars came out victorious. Not surprising when they had 3 guys in the starting 5 at 7' of over, two of them happening to be KG and Tim Duncan, the leading candidates for this years MVP award.
In typing this I have just realised that I didn't bring home the books I needed to do my English homework. The words "Ah shit" come to mind... I'll have to get the assignments from Tom and improvise.
Magic Advice for the Day: When you have a victory, show off, no matter how small it is. That way, when you lose, a load of spectators will have fun at your expense. It's taking one for the team. Try it!
