Working Hard
|
|
People are always asking us what we want to be,
that we can achieve anything
we set our minds to,
the sky is the limit.
What if someone just wants to be average?
What if I just want to help other people be great
and achieve their dreams?
I don't think my mom quite gets that.
Her response was to pray about it
and think and work hard.
Well, I'm working hard.
I've got two BYU classes which are
11 Sections- 40+ pages each.
As well as a really big US Government packet
to have finished by the 28th.
Sometimes I doubt myself,
but for some reason, whenever I do,
there is always someone around to ask me
how I'm doing and to then cheer me on.
I'm grateful for those people,
because i don't have that much faith in myself.
********************Young Women's Experience******************
My youth leader taught an interesting lesson the other day.
She talked about the priesthood,
which isn't something that we talk about often-
being young women and all.
She said that having the priesthood and having
the ability to bless people and have that impact in their
lives made worthy young men very happy.
'It makes them happy.'
I'd never thought of it that way.
Then she mentioned modesty and how it's important
that we help them as
much as we can to not think impure thoughts
and all that sunday school stuff.
But that has stuck with me this week.
I'm making someone happy just by picking the clothes I do.
For someone like me,
who can't find enough ways to make people happy-
that's really awesome and important.
^_^ kinda cool.
So I did a poll among my 2 guy friends
that are worthy to have the priesthood,
and they confirmed that it does indeed make them happy
to have that priesthood.
It's nice to know that obeying the rules has perks.
**********************All Done*************************
Oh yeah,
I'm reading Twighlight.
I've read the second book and figured
it's probably a good idea to figure out where this
all started and how.
I'm not a huge person on romance
and I think if I get bored,
or when I get time-
I'll read the book that Kida is reading,
The Giver
or a book that I recently saw advertised
and have had many recommendations for-
Atlas Shrugged.
Apparently it's very profound.
Any suggestions?

BYU Stuff
|
|
I've been reading MARS all over again. I think it's by far my favoritest manga series. Rei reminds me so much of me. I'm violent, intimidating and even though I'm smart, I don't try too hard. *trying not to brag* The only crummy thing about being like that is that I'm the one who has to try in the relationships. I'm the one who gets broken up with because I'm too intense. It's a good thing I'm not worried about dating right now or I'd be an even bigger mess! lol.
So I'm taking some classes from Brigham Young University, which is a pretty prestigious school- I don't think it's Ivyleague, but it's pretty close. They are tough stuff, but then again, I've never really been fascinated by American History.
I'm American, but even I can admit we're not that fascinating. We're now superpowers with the country that gave us life, that we fought against to obtain freedom that we obviously abuse and we have no distinct culture except for the fact that we seem to be so fond of imposing that non-culture on other cultures and even wiping them out!
I intend to be a flower shop girl for a while. It'd be nice! I love flowers and I love helping people and it'd be very rewarding, even if it doesn't pay well.
Obviously not as a career. As a career, I intend to be a museum curator. The Smithsonian is available for internships, but only for current college students. So I'm praying that the internship will still be available once I get there this fall.
Things are crazy right now. But I've got friends like you to make it through!

Happy Easter!
|
|
Happy Easter everyone! What a fabulous spring day!!!
Something terrible happened!!! I took my favorite jeans and turned them into shorts. *sob* The knees were ripped so terribly and they're getting too small, so I figured I'd make them last longer as shorts. :D hee hee.
I've decided to go to a local community college for the summer or a year to get a good GPA and the generals out of the way before going to a 4-year university. It's cheaper and an easier adjustment that way. I just have to break my "make-everyone-happy" shell and tell my family that it's my decision and a final one. ^_^;;;
The parents are still in Florida. It's been an incredibly peaceful, albeit unproductive vacation and I'll be glad to see them. No easter eggs for me. T.T oh well. They'll just go straight to the thighs anyway, right ladies!? lol.
What'd you do for Easter?

Otaku

One thing about Otaku is that when you post you are GUARANTEED to get comments no matter how long you've been gone.
I love spring. Those mid-seasons are my favorite. Not too hot and not too cold.
My little soul-searching journey has not yet come to it's finale, but do they ever? Now that I've taken time off, I must figure out where I truly want to go to college. My family is debating for me. It'll be interesting to tell them exactly where I would like to go whether they like it or not.
I got a haircut!! :) My stylist is my sister-in-law and fabulous at what she does. She also gave me some make-up tips. Apparently the shade of make-up I was using was WAY to light.

What changes have you made this winter?

Pondering
|
|
So I was thinking to myself about these essays we write.
We as students, are at the mercy of our teachers or professors. We must submit information that they already know, that we may soon forget and if our opinion is required, we subject it to the parameters of their own opinion. How fair is that?
And why am I so good at it? lol.
I'm happy it's spring!!!! :D What about you?
