Teen Poverty in America (my mom e-mailed it to me)
We just spent several hours observing teenagers hanging out at our local mall. We came to the conclusion that many teenagers in America today are living in poverty. Most young men We observed didn't even own a belt; there was not one among the whole group.
But that wasn't the sad part. Many were wearing their daddy's jeans. Some jeans were so big and baggy they hung low on their hips, exposing their underwear. I know some must have been ashamed their daddy was short, because his jeans hardly went below their knees. They weren't even their daddies' good jeans, for most had holes ripped in the knees and a dirty look to them.
It grieved us, in a modern, affluent society like America, that there are those who can't afford a decent pair of jeans. I was thinking about asking my church to start a jeans drive for "poor kids at the mall." Then on Christmas Eve, we could go Christmas caroling and distribute jeans to these poor teenagers
But here is the saddest part...it was the girls that were hanging out there that disturbed us most. Never, in all of our lives, have we seen such poverty-stricken girls. These girls had the opposite problem of the guys. They all had to wear their little sister's clothes. Their jeans were about 5 sizes too small! I don't know how they could get them on, let alone button them up. Their jeans barely went over their hipbones. Most also had on their little sister's top; it hardly covered their midsections. Oh, they were trying to hold their heads up with pride, but it was a sad sight to see these almost grown women wearing children's clothes.
However, it was their underwear that bothered us most. They, like the boys, because of the improper fitting of their clothes, had their underwear exposed. We had never seen anything like it. It looked like their underwear was only held together by a single piece of string.
We know it saddens your heart to receive this report on condition of our American teenagers. While we go to bed every night with a closets full of clothes nearby, there are millions of "mall girls" who barely have enough material to keep it together. We think their "poorness" is why these 2 groups gather at the mall; boys with their short daddies' ripped jeans, and girls wearing their younger sisters' clothes. The mall is one place where they can find acceptance. So, next time you are at the mall, doing your shopping , and you pass by some of these poor teenagers, would you say a prayer for them?
Heh...you cought me. This Amber is lazy. So lazy that I stoped updating for a while. Acctually I don't think that I should blame it on my lazyness. There are two main causes of me not posting.
Cause Number One
My internet is being a super meanie. It will let me stay on for like 10 minutes at the most then disconnect me. I curse you evil internet from beyond the grave!
Cause Number Two
My anime buddy gave me 7 DVD's, 20+ manga and 10 recorded television series. Need I say more?
So that is what I blame besides this Amber's lazyness. *Sigh* Curse you body for being too lazy to turn on the computer. That is all.
'Lo world! I have some really good news! Acctually it depends on your perspective, but it's good news to me. I'm going back to my old school and I'm so happy! I miss all of my friends that I haven't seen since a few months ago. I mean yeah we e-mail each other and we talk on YIM but I haven't acctually gotten to talk to them face to face. I miss those guys. I hope they are all doing well. I wonder if they still have the same hair color?...Don't ask.
Hello, this is my new valentines site version. While I was working on it, there was some sort of power surge causing the computer to restart! I was horrified because everything that I didn't save got erased. Well, that's life. Anyway, yes Ayame is my favorite Furuba character because he is so freaking awsome. That's why I made him my new version.
Hello to everyone out there in computer land. Sorry that I havn't posted lately. It's just that I had a problem with my internet connection (I have AOL that's why). Anyway, just a few days ago three of the kids on the bus, me being one of them, realized that we all like the same thing. ANIME!!! Yes that's right, we've ridden the same bus all school year and we just figured that out. Shame on us. The thing is, in a moving vihicle I tend to be quiet and not talk alot, even when I'm with my friends.
Speaking of, the night of our 8th grade graduation we all decided to have a Veggie Tales Marathon over at my g-rents house. (Don't laugh, veggie tales is awsome) So on the way there, we were all in my g-pa's van, and I just sat there with my quiet self and all my friends were freaked out! Whenever I'm really quiet for a period of time they seem to think something's wrong with me. Does that mean I talk alot? I don't think I talk alot,it's just that when I do talk I guess I must do it alot. What kind of freak am I?! >_<
Anyway, so we found out that we all like anime right, and one of them lives right next door to me so he lets me borrow some anime he's recorded off of Adult Swim on Cartoon Network (I don't have cable but my grandparents do so I only get to watch it on Saturday nights. Curse Adult Swim for getting rid of InuYasha on weekends! They replaced it with "Ghost in a Shell". Big tap dancing whoop! I've seen the first movie and it wasn't worthy of a television series. CURSE THEM!! CURSE THEM ALL!!) So yesterday he lent me like 8 tapes! I'm only through the first 3 and a half because of school. He lent me Paranoia Agent(funny), Excell Saga(really funny so far), and Scryed (haven't gotten that far). So it's been good.
Hmm...let's see...what else happened that I want to get out now?

Oh yeah! We got our report cards a while ago and they screwed my grades up remember? Well they finnaly fixed it and I have a GPA of 4.0! That's right, straight A's baby!...Well that's about it so I'm off to see the wizard. See ya later gladiators!
Well, it's another week of school, another week filled with school work, and I wish it was the weekend already. I have this weird pain in my stomach that I don't know what it is but it's not bothering me much. Maybe it was just somthing I ate. I'm contemplating on weather or not to change my site theme for Hearts Day and "nay" is winning. If you want me to just ask because I really don't care. I was thinking about changing it eventually but not for Chocolate Day.
Anyway, I should probably be doing my homework right now so I'm going to leave now. Toodles.
Hello I don't have much time to type this so here I go. I just wanted to share this link with you because it's so funny!! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Hello again.
You know what? Lately I have been having some weird daydreams about Piccolo. You know, from DragonballZ and all? It's really weird. I mean he's a great character and all but not in the daydream type of way, eh? Makes me wonder what really goes on inside my head...
Have any of you ever heard the Bohemian Rhapsody? The first time I ever heard of it was on American Idol like last week. So I decided to go look up those depressing little lyrics. And they are depressing. They're all about shooting a guy and hating your life and wishing you were never born and that's kind of depressing to me. I mean come on:
Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters
Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody - I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo - (anyway the wind blows)
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all
Oh, and speaking of hating life, there are some people I know who are always like "Oh I hate my parents!" "I hate my mother/father!" "I wouldn't care if anything happened to thim/ if they died!" Dudes! Get it through your thick little sculls! If it weren't for your parents there would be no you. You would never even exist and what a sad reality that would be. I love my parents, divorced though they may be, and I know they love me no matter what they do. I know that everything they do or say is for my own good whether I choose to accept it or not. You can't just go around hating those who are the greatest things that ever happened to you. I mean come on! It's not all about yourself. There is no 'me' in Family! Just like there is no 'I' in dumb but there is a 'u'!
Okay, Amber is done ranting on now. I finnaly got my report card today and, as usual, I got straight A's. Unfortunately They messed up my schedule and some how I got put down as in another class that I never took so I 'failed' that course. So, they're getting all that straitened out so I can get the A from the class that I did take. The problem was that I moved to my current school in the middle of the first quarter so my schedule was screwed and the classes were all taken and everything. So on my first day there, they messed up my schedule and I went on a whirlwind tour of the school trying to find my correct class for first period the second day (I came in the middle of my first day also). And so bla bla bal yadda yadda yadda my schedule is still messed up for my first period classes and they have yet to fix it. None of it is my fault. Yes that's right, I blame it all on the public school system.
Now that I got that all out my current GPA is 3.6923 according to my report card and I did pretty well on my exams for the first semester. My class mates think that I should be in the advanced classes but they're all full and you can't really change classes in the middle of the school year now can you?
Well, that's all I have to say for now. Bu-bye.
Hi, I'm back again and I just came from LS's site which is the funniest thing! He is having a writing contest where we must finnish a story. I read the beginning and I started laughing so hard because it was so funny! I'm definantly going to enter my ending...once I find a way to end it that is. ///_n'
Well, not much happened at school today. It was pretty much the same except I had a test in spanish. It wasn't too hard except for the fact that I forgot what some of the words ment on the part that I had to translate the vocab words from Espanol to English. Also I forgot the reflexive verb for 'to wake up'. Bah! Who needs spanish anyways. It's not like I'm going to move to Mexico but at least I get a credit for it and it will look good on my college aplications. I guess that's all that matters, eh?
Well, "I'm taking advantage of all of the things this place has to offer..." by seeing if there are any new e-cards or fan art that have been submited. See ya later gladiators!
