myOtaku.com: Zakuro Rose

Introduction

If you haven't noticed yet, I'm Zakuro Rose. You may call me Zakuro, Rose or ZR for short. I'm a girl with a hint of tomboyish-ness and is a bit eccentric.

I usually write about the two main characters from a light novel I am making that I hope will be published and turned into an anime someday. Please do not steal or copy any of my stories, drawings, original characters, or plot ideas (I'm really lenient with this one, so if you really want to use it just do something to make it distinctive) without my permission.

I do take requests for stories and artwork, but please remember they are only requests. Please go here to see things that you should keep in mind when placing a request. An agreed request might take along time to finish since I procrastinate, am lazy, and have to be in a writing/drawing mood. I also do trades! Please go here to place a request or trade.

I also have a wide taste in music. I like hard rock, alternative rock, rapcore, and alternative and nu metal. Some of my favorite bands are Linkin Park, Papa Roach and My Chemical Romance.

Updates

Me and my friend were looking at her (my friend's) stories on fanfiction.net yesterday. Well, she writes a whole bunch of funny stories that really have no plot to it, but instead is trying to make you laugh. Don't get me wrong, they're pretty good stories, but one of her reviews from Rhamnousia went as follows:

Ah, the luck I have. Just when I was becoming bored, another egocentric ‘tweenager’ comes along to save the day and give me a good chuckle with ludicrous and wholly doltish ramblings.

Where to begin? Let’s see….well, since your juvenile mind thinks that randomness equals cleverness, I too shall be as random as possible.

1. Let me check the Terms of Service. Ah, yes. There it is, right in the title of this site. Those three simple little letters you seemed to have overlooked: FAN. You see, this is a FANFICTION site, Sweet Pea. Not the ‘Grammatically Atrocious Dribble About Your Trip to Alabama’ site. They have a site for things like this. It’s called MYSPACE. Perhaps you’ve heard of it?

2. The prefix ‘poli’ is Greek, dear. Not Latin. ‘Mutli’ is Latin. Even if you copied it straight out of another person’s work (ah, those pesky site guidelines come to mind again), it’s wrong. Before you try and give the false impression of your intelligence, you may want to double-check yourself first. There’s a site for that, too. It’s called GOOGLE.

3. On the plus side, your God-awful spelling did make me laugh. ‘Reserectted’ and ‘Pinoceeo’ were among my favorites. Sigh. This is definitely where the craze ‘Hooked on Phonics’ went horribly wrong.

4. I’m constantly amazed at your utter laziness. You apparently have enough focus to go through the steps of posting this, but alas, apparently it is too much to ask for you to reach over and hit that ‘shift’ key to capitalize the letter ‘I’ or add ‘yo’ in front of your annoying little ‘u’s.

I’m sure there’s more I can critique, but alas, I do not have the next ten years of my life free to do that for you.

So, in sum: POST THIS CRAP SOMEWHERE ELSE! It does not belong here. No one, save for your little junior high friends, wants to read it.

And don’t bother replying. I can guarantee that I won’t care.

Oh, and one last thing…..

That ticked me off so bad. We had a good laugh though. We went to go see who the guy was so we looked up his pen name. His bio went as follows:

This account is used for reviews only. I have many stories posted here; however, since I do not want retribution flames for any con-crit that I leave, my stories are under a separate author name. I have never and will never check the email associated with this name, so don't bother review-replying or PMing.

This is just a list of pet-peeves I’ve acquired after perusing several fics and also having the experience of writing them for many years. I do have an undergraduate degree in literature as well as a graduate degree, so I believe I have some basis to bolster my views.

Grammar:

.~. The misuse of ‘your’ and ‘you’re’. You’re = You are. Your = possession (e.g. your story)

.~. Mangled quotations. “She wrote,” he informed. OR “She wrote.” He informed.

.~. Not grasping the i before e except after c and sounding as eigh as in neighbor and weigh rule. (It’s receive not recieve).

.~. Posting work littered with mistakes. It’s inexcusable not to proofread before posting.

Stories:

.~. Authors who litter a fandom with what they consider yet another clever parody of a Mary-Sue. Writing these tells me nothing more than you are too much of a coward to actually attempt a good, well-constructed original story.

.~. Authors who litter fandoms with original pieces that do not belong on this site.

.~. Authors who hold updates for ransom by demanded a set number of reviews.

.~. Fanbrats who think they can write because they have a keyboard in front of them. (as if simply picking up a scalpel suddenly makes one a renowned surgeon, or grabbing a spatula makes one a seasoned chef). Just because a person can type does not make him/her a writer.

Reviewers:

.~. Reviewers who purport to know what an entire fandom is thinking. (e.g. ‘Please do us a favor and delete this story. We don’t want it in our fandom).

.~. Reviewers who have the audacity to think they know what the author of the fandom likes or dislikes. (e.g.: Mary Smith would roll over in her grave if she read this. She would never have wanted a love story between these characters).

.~. Reviewers who believe themselves an almighty deity in their fandom.

.~. Reviewers who discourage instead of encourage with con-crit.

This guy is so full of himself. I know some of you are writers and this would probably tick you off too if you got a review like this.

No yaoi or yuri, or anything of the like

I am not very good with love stories (drawings are okay), in my opinion. I can try though. I do not do nudity or strong sexual content (especially in drawings). I can do light sexual content, but it will be nothing more than barely PG-13. In short, no hentai but some ecchi.

I warn you, I'm no good with animals
