Hi! You want to be an Egyptologist too?!?!?! Cool! I've been interested in ancient Egypt for seven years. I have a 490 somethin' paged coffee table book about everything on ancient Egypt, and I'm attempting (attempting is the key word here folks) to read it...I haven't made much progress though.
Yeah, there's a branch of archeaology called Egyptology, though I know a lot of people who don't know that.
At my school, we were having, like, a career counseling day or something, and one of the people who's job it is to advise us on what we're interested in came over and asked me what I wanted to be.
I said, "I'd like to be an Egyptologist."
Then they said, and I quote, "An Egypt-whata?"
The thing is, I'll say something that's perfectly normal for me about Egypt, and people will not know what I mean. Someone was once talking about Cleopatra being a Pharaoh she was pharoah, and I said something like, "Yeah, she was Pharaoh, but she sucked 'cause all she did was flirt with her boyfriends and not run the country. She was ugly and power corrupted too and eventualy led Egypt to it's downfall at the hands of the Romans."
Everyone just stared at me and someone said, "But I thought she was supposed to be pretty, like in the movies!" So I then kinda lectured them a bit...I guess I'm kinda obsessed, huh?
Ummm...I like anime too...^__^;
...Okay, I'll shut up now.
