"I can't stand to fly/
I'm not that naive/
I'm just out to find/
The better part of me..." -Five For Fighting (Superman)

I am getting very tired of those damned Vonage commercials. Mostly just because of what I associate them with.. Sita, I did manage to talk to 'you know who' for a few minutes the other day. I was so shocked to recieve a reply at all, that everything I wanted to say just left my head. Too bad. It'll be another 6 month wait 'til next time.. It's official. I'm an idiot.

Anyways, no word yet from the Chapters people. Soon I hope..

I like broccoli.

Lame one-liner #34: Be nice to your kids. They'll choose your nursing home.

   "I would swallow my doubt/
Turn it inside out /
Find nothing but faith in nothing/
Want to put my tender heart it in a blender/
Watch it spin round to a beautiful oblivion/ Rendezvous, then I'm through with you..." -Eve 6 (Inside Out)

Well... On Friday I actually did go down to Chapters with a resume. Finally. The girl I gave it to said they likely were going to be doing some hiring for the summertime. This is a real University town, so a LOT of students go back where they came from for the holidays, and then there's a ton of jobs. Sooo.. *fingers crossed*

Anyways, Later on Friday night, I had people come over for drinkies. We never manage to get anything started before 10:30 or 11:00pm, so I was watching FMA when the first people walked in the door. I was so happy to see my Chase come in with his sister Paige. (he's the one that the soap reminds me of.. heheh..) Everybody else soon followed and we played a round of everyone's favourite, Sociables (aka, Smokeables.. *shrugs*). Always good for a laugh. I won, (or lost, depends on how you look at it) as usual... I love having free run of my house. Didn't have to worry about waking anyone up.. So nice..

And on Saturday I did pretty much nothing. Drove my sister to work in the morning, came home and slept more. Kinda watched a lot of TV and a couple of movies. I'm just going to watch the rest of The Goonies before I head off to bed.. Favourite '80's movie of ALL TIME! Haha!

"Scar tissue that I wish you saw/
Sarcastic mister know it all/
Close your eyes and I'll kiss you 'cause/
With the birds I'll share/
With the birds I'll share/
This lonely view..." -Red Hot Chili Peppers (Scar Tissue)

Well, we had planned on having a games night on Thursday, but no game playing was actually done. We got ahold of a girl that we were good friends with way back in high school, so she came, and we really just spent three hours catching up on life. Which, if you think about it is better than three hours playing Settlers of Catan. *Shrugs* I dunno.. She's a lot different that I remember her being. I barely recognized her at the door. But I suppose I'm different too. After sitting around for a while, I started to see bits of the 'old' her that were still there.. Interesting how people change...

So, the question of the day is.. how long should one wait to hear from someone before giving up on them? After how many attempts to contact them, and recieving no reply, should one consider it a subtle request to get lost? It's true that people sometimes have stuff going on and don't always have time to sit around and chat, but is two minutes to reply to an email that much to ask? Would one be being selfish to expect that?

Lame one-liner #32: Okay, who stopped the payment on my reality check?!

"Frozen land, frozen minds/
Frozen hands and frozen time/
‘Cause everything moves real slow when it’s forty below/
Everything moves real slow when it’s forty below..." -Sam Roberts (The Canadian Dream)

I've been reading a lot more lately, and now that I've temporarily run out of fiction to read, I have turned to some of my textbooks from past courses. I'm partway through one from my Philosophy of Science class. Although I never got to read it when I was in the class because I dropped out. After filling up an entire test booklet for a seven question test and only getting a 51 for a grade, I'd had it and I dropped out. But Cosmology is still an interesting subject. One that I used to totally be into, but I tend to lose interest in hobbies rather quickly. Short attention span. Hey look it's a cracker! Ehhh.. So I'm trying to get back into a few of them.

Like astronomy. Any other astronomers out there? I took a couple of courses at the Uni, but the physics kind of ruined it for me. Stars are just pretty, that's all.. I don't need to know the redshift of a white dwarf star in a binary system.. Just don't care at this point..

Newsflash: Orangina is not all it's cracked up to be. Better to just mix your orange juice with ginger ale..

Lame one-liner #31: I took an IQ test and the results were negative. Heh.. durh...

"Something's wrong 'cause my mind is fading/
Ghetto-blastin' disintegrating/
Rock 'n' roll, know what I'm sayin'/
And everywhere I look there's a devil waiting/
Got a devil's haircut in my mind..." -Beck (Devil's Haircut)

Ten second weekend recap: Friday, watched more dance festival, went out, got plastered.. Saturday.. got up with puffy eyes, couldn't put in contacts. Watched more dance festival. Went to housewarming party. Home. Slept. Sunday, slept. Watched yet MORE dance festival. Done and done.

SO that's pretty much everything I was going to say yesterday before the thing crapped out on me, except in MUCH less detail.. (Zappa: tried pushing 'back' button. Did not bring back my post.. *sad face*)

My family is going away at the end of the week. Well, except for my sister. Can you say party time? *raises left hand* I promise not to trash the house... *shifty eyes*...*wonders if anyone will notice she raised the left hand while promising not to trash the house* Heh.. It's okay. All my friends are very tidy when they come over. And I refuse to go to work the next morning. They can't make me!

Anyways, there was something else, but I forget.. so we'll just keep things moving right along to... Lame one-liner #30: (yesterday's was lame anyways, and since I got so angry with the compy, I refuse to post it..) You can't have everything; where would you put it?!

Good night everybody!

Oh for crying out loud. I had it all typed out... it was good and long. And when I hit the post button, it gave me a "page not found" error message. That really sucks. Because I'm funny today. But I am also not going to waste another half hour trying to remember what I said and what all the jokes were. Too damn bad.. You'll never know what I did on the weekend...

"And its go boys, go/
They'll time your every breath/
And every day in this place your two days nearer death/
But you go..." -Great Big Sea (The Chemical Workers Song)

***Attempt # 2***

I said goodbye to yet another coworker that I made the mistake of getting attached to. He claims he'll be back in September, but I highly doubt that. It's sad really..

Union meeting on Thursday morning. I'm thinking that this is kind of my last ditch effort in getting new boss to bloody LISTEN to what we're telling him. We make suggestions on how to improve the place, but they tend to go ignored, which causes irritation..

Anyways, on to more important (and happier) things.. I'm starting to think that I should carry a tape recorder around with me and start actually SAYING some of the stuff that I think. Because a lot of the time, it's really funny. Like tonight, (Wednesday) I went down to the theatre to see my sister's dance competition. There were a few groups ahead of hers, including a bunch of 13 year olds from Medicine Hat, with poofy hair and booty shorts dancing to Welcome To The Jungle by Guns'N'Roses. I'm pretty sure the looks on my face expressed everything. And a few of those girls looked like they were enjoying the booty shorts a little too much.. Note to self: Stay FAR away from Medicine Hat.. It is, after all, the place that brought us Kalan Porter...

Lame one liner #28: Sometimes I wake up grumpy; Other times I let him sleep. Ha ha ha...

"Dull as dirt, you can't assert/
The kind of light that might persuade/
A strict dictator to retire/
Fire the army, teach the poor origami/
The truth is in, the proof is when/
You hear your heart start asking, "What´s my motivation?"..." -The Newsboys (Shine)

Alright, so I've been appointed the official Holder-of-People-Who-Are-Going-to-be-Punched. I will turn a blind eye to whomever it is that you stick between my hands. I hold, you punch. For an extra fiver I'll give the guy a kick in the ass from behind too. *grin*

My friend Chase recently moved a couple of hours North. A couple of years ago at a party, we went outside and shared a cigar that was flavoured like honey-berry. I bought this hand soap the other day that smells like vanilla-berry. But the thing is, it smells EXACTLY like that cigar. So now I can't wash my hands without being reminded of Chase. Ha! But I do miss the guy a bunch..

Aaanyways, in other news, I was pretty much offered two jobs. The only problem is that taking either one would mean a drastic pay cut. Although I'm sure that were I to be hired at Chapters it would be a drastic pay cut too, but it's just a different (dare I say, classier?) environment. The two from today are pretty much doing what I'm doing now, just in a different place. I suppose there is always the option of having two jobs. Not like I don't have the time...

Lame one-liner #27: Laugh alone and the world thinks you're an idiot. Wow... I must be an idiot.. Hahahahaha!.. heh.. heh.. Ehhhhhh... Goodnight everybody!
