Javajavajavajavajavajavajava.....
<<
Ooookay then! It's been kind of a long day. Wednesday night I said that I might just not bother going to sleep, and well, I may as well not have. I did stay up until about 2:30-3ish but then I did decide to sleep a little. 'Bout two or three hours. A catnap, if you will. So, out the door just before 6am. Why the hell does the weather always have to be bad when we have to go up for negotiations?! Wet snow, which turned into ice. Yeah, we were fishtailing like mad. Stu and I pretty much white-knuckled it all the way there. Scary, I tell ya. Too many semis on the road too. Made it there alive though and that's hopefully the last time we have to go up there.
I had to have a couple of cups of coffee so that Id be able to stay awake during the meetings. I was pretty twitchy... no, just terribly, terribly alert! I'll be having one or two more before the night is out. I'm almost through this paper, and I promise, once I am, I will NEVER talk about it again! NEVER! 1000 words down...500 to go... I think I'll be dragging my ass around work tomorrow morning. Hopefully it's not too busy and I won't have to talk to too many people, and put up with stupid jokes about my name. Like, "So, isn't there supposed to be an X in front of that? Get it? X-Con?" A real laugh and a half, that one. Or "So is it just Con, or is it Con-artist?" Oh yeah, like I haven't heard that one five times today. Hur hur! Anywho, I'll catch you guys Friday night! Anime Night in Canada! Whoo! *Hockey Night in Canada theme song plays*...

Hey look! I found a butterhorn!
Holy crap for crap. 500 words down and 1000 to go. Alrighty, here's a little snippet of this 'God' paper. **If you just don't care, might I advise you to skip the next two paragraphs!** I'm leaving the quotes in but the footnotes out so Viminitz and Olen better not sue...
To begin with, the idea behind modal immortality rests on the idea of co-reductionism, which says that if we are immortal, there is a particular kind of soul (read: identity) that we will want to have continue on. That identity is one “with a concept of itself similar enough to my concept of my self that I’d care about its surviving”. Ideas like this one, about ‘life after death’ depend heavily on personal identity as Viminitz continues to say that if the soul has no distinguishing characteristics (at least none that are discernable save by the eye of God) then why would we care whether or not it survives and continues on after our death?
On the same subject, Jeffrey Olen wishes to know what it is that makes a person the same person as he was the day, or even a few minutes before. He first makes the distinction between a person and a human being, claiming that the person is not merely biological, as the human being is. The person encompasses emotion, consciousness as well as self-consciousness and “not only has beliefs, desires and so forth, has beliefs about its beliefs, desires and so forth.” Secondly, the things that make a person the same as he was before or will be he bases on two simple criteria. The person must have the same body and the same memories. It is important to make this distinction for we can then pose the question of whether or not the “person can survive the death of the body” and eventually end up in heaven as persons/souls are wont to do...
o_0 Somebody kill me. Anyways, that's how I spent a large part of my Wednesday. I think I'll just keep working and maybe not go to sleep tonight. Meh, I have to be up at 5 anyways. More Union negotiations tomorrow. Starting at 9am and it's a two hour drive to get there, and we're going to hit rush hour traffic. Dammit! So if anybody feels like chattin' (heheh) lemme know! I'll probably sign back into MSN at midnight or 1:00 or so (that's 2 or 3 Otaku time), brew a pot o' coffee at 4:30...
Before this gets too long with my philosophical babble I must say (another) big thanks to Raven8763 who made me some purdy presents today! Like this one!
<<< It just fits so well with my Duo theme, eh? And a couple of sweet yaoi support banners that I will try and rotate so all the fangirls (but not the rabid ones Oreana! XD) can see them! I'm thinking I'll do that Saturday after I do my income tax return. Heh, it'll be nice to think about numbers rather than God for once! Alright, good night everybody!

Raining down sulfur takes a huge level of endurance. Mass genocide is the most exhausting activity one can engage in, next to soccer." -Loki (Dogma)
Blech!! *shudder* Well, it's that time of year again. Spring, the time of green grass, barbequing and .... spiders.... Gah! The thing I hate most of all. Tell me, how many of you guys hate the things as much as I do?! I mean it's all fine and good when they're outside, ya know, doing spider-y things. It's when they're in my house that it bothers me! When I see one, I usually run for the vacuum and suck the little bugger right up, but this one last night... Dammit! It was HUGE and it had parked itself right in front of the vacuum plug-in (it's a built-in system)! *hyperventilates* So I think to myself, "damn! I'm gonna have to get the spider whacking stick". (yes, I have a spider whacking stick. It's a metre long piece of 1x6. Works really well, except for having to clean squished spider off the wall! EEWWw!) Anywho, too bad for me that it was behind the end table and I would have to reach directly OVER the monster sized arachnid to get it. "Aww crap!"
So what do I do now?! I run upstairs like the wuss I am. "Daaad...There's a spider..." and he says... "Oh. That's nice." Real big help, eh? So, I get the vacuum anyways and luckily for me, it just barely reaches to the outlet upstairs! Yesss!! Death from above! It actually went 'klunk' as it went up the hose. 'Klunk'. Can you believe it?! That's how big it was! So I have an entire summer of this to look forward to! Yippee Skippy! (note sarcastic tone there) I don't know about you guys, but I can barely stand looking at this picture. It's a stupid cartoon spider, for gods sake, but it still creeps me out! *shudder again*
Back to work for me... Oh, and Kitsune! The 'God' paper, is both about God AND makes me say 'Oh, God!' XD If you guys feel like being confused, I'll post a little chunk of it when I'm done. But not too much since I don't want you all to hate me! Heheh! Good night! Sleep tight! Don't let the... uh... nevermind!

"Cause I just wanna finish this race/
And I don't wanna lose my face/
Looking for a new direction crossin' over the road..." -Soundtrack of Our Lives (Infra Riot)
Here I am, one day and twenty phrase structure trees later, and I'm not feelin' too good about it. That was a bloody sneaky test. She threw in elements from the very beginning of the course that I'm sure nobody studied for. That part was super easy for me since morphology is sooo my department, but the rest.... ehhhh... I just really hate it when you can see the answer but can't figure out the steps to get to it, which is where all the marks were. Talk about a pain in the butt! But in any case it's over and from that, I am free. One more 'God' paper to go. Think I can get it done by Friday? Maybe if I switch to Ninja mode! Boo yah!
Sad news... (okay, it's not that sad. You'll probably just laugh at me) My Netscape has been deleted. (*StrongBad voice* DELETED!) It had a virus or something and was just being a pain in the ass. When I turned the computer on, it started loading up little Windows icons in the toolbar along the bottom. It took me several minutes to close them all. My finger was starting to get tired! XD So somehow I managed to figure out that it was Netscape causing that problem. So it went away. Along with all of my bookmarks. Crap. Ah well... I'll just have to deal with it.
So hopefully you haven't been turned of by my complaining and you're still reading, because... *fanfare plays* Here's a lil' shout-out to some awesome friends!
Miss Puchuu Punkette! You're super cute and you crack me up on a regular basis, and I love ya for it!
and Heero77, you're an awfully quiet guy, but your presence is felt and it's just good to know that you're there! So, thanks!

Everything's coming up Millhouse!!
Ehhh, sorry, I can't resist The Simpsons quote-age. XD Some interesting-y little tidbits today... First, I fell asleep this afternoon while breaking from the studying, and I had a little light-bulb dream. Something I never understood about these crappy phrase structure trees suddenly became clear! Wohoo! I feel like I have a slight edge now. Gotta love it when that happens. That, and when you find money in your pockets that you forgot was there. Nice!
Second, I will be going to a conference in May, for Union Stewards. In the lovely provincial park of Jasper, AB. Fun times! I hear that it usually ends up just being a big gong show since they have an open bar and pretty much everything is free. A lot of the Stewards are older so that's why the union can afford to do that. They know most of them won't drink 'em dry! I get to be the driver and make the 6 or so hour drive up there with my friend/co-worker. *hyperventilates into paper bag* I'm a very nervous highway driver, especially when it comes to places I've never been. It'll be okay though, as long as my friend is as good a navigator as I am. ^_~
Third, and this is not such good news, I think I've figured out why cats have nine lives... One of my cats, this morning was trying to yak up a gigantic furball. When he finally managed to bring it up, he went stiff, fell over and had a few convulsions. Freak-out city! He must have stopped breathing for a bit because the massive furball was blocking the way. But after a couple of minutes he popped back up and ran off like nothing had happened. So as far as I can figure, cats can hack up nine furballs of that calibre before kicking the bucket for good.
Anyways, there's my catties. Named for the ever popular Jake (who now has 8 lives, max.) and Elwood (in the kitty condo) Blues... I missed a bunch of sites yesterday, so sorry 'bout that! Got distracted by something shiny again... See you all soon!

A pretty uneventful Saturday, spent at work... It was not so much fun today, but I got a lot of crap done that otherwise wouldn't have, had I not been there. And I've already told them I'm not filling in for sick-o's tomorrow, so they better not call! I will be spending my day practicing drawing phrase structure trees. The scum of the Linguistic universe. I am being tested on that on Monday, and since I skipped, um, I'd say upwards of 60% of the classes, I'd better do my damndest to be prepared.
So, a bunch of you guys had fun stuff to say about my puppy dog yesterday. His name is Bongo, by the way. (Long story... I love my doggles!) I should have showed you guys a picture of him dragging a log out of the river, but here's a cuter one taken when he didn't smell like the river valley mungus he rolled in.
Aaannnd that's my bobble-head dog that now sits on the dash in my truck. Bongo kind of 'adopted' it, and would pick it up and carry it around and 'protect' it from my cats. So funny! I'm a huge fan of animals doing dumb things. Oh, hey... Look at what the cat is doing now.... Heheheh!!

"My name is Jeff Albertson, but everyone just calls me Comic Book Guy."
Okay then. This is me retyping the entire post because my computer is a piece of garbage! (yeah, I said it) It's like a kid with ADD that you can't leave alone for five minutes. I set it going at something, loading pictures or whatever and it goes "okay, let's load these pictures and then... Hey! Lets go ride our bikes!" and it quits on me. And this time it isn't because I have too many things running. I had to restart it three times to get my pictures off the camera! Three!! Stupid thing...
But yeah, pictures. It was such a gorgeous day here today, so my mom and I took my dog down to the river valley. (Watch out for rattlesnakes! And coyotes!) It ws really nice though. Saw some deer and a nice sunset. The dog decided it would be a good idea to roll around in some mungus, so he did and I had to send him swimming. He likes to fetch the sticks out of the water, but only if the stick is big enough. None of these pansy ass little twigs, oh no. You practically have to launch an entire tree branch in for him to be motivated enough to go get it. He'd probably make a good life-saving dog. Hmmm... I'll snatch one of those bratty, whiny kids and toss him in the river and see what the dog does. (Only kidding! I'm not that mean!!) Anyhow, I took some loverly pictures. The moon was out so I couldn't resist.
That's a coulee. Say it with me kids... Cou-lee. Kinda like a mountain, but on a much smaller scale.
And there's the moon coming up. I'm no photographer like Mamma Vash is, but I like how that one came out. Sooo... now that it has taken me an hour to make a post that should have taken 15-20 minutes max, I shall leave you all to your faboo weekend plans. Have piece of pie for me, or a couple of extra hours of sleep, whichever, I like both. Catch you all in the a.m.!

Gah! Bullets! My only weakness!!
What a crazy-go-nuts day! First off, let me say, Danke Schoen to everyone. I got 16 comments yesterday! To me, that's just friggin' amazing! Steve says thanks too. (Haha!)
Anywho, I went to take the Linguistics test on Thursday (that would be yesterday, but as I'm writing this, it is still Thursday, go figure). Dun dun dunnnn... I went over there two hours early for a lil' last minute cramming. Got distracted by seeing bloody everyone I know! It's funny how I never saw anyone really during the semester, but as soon as exams roll around, everybody's around! I managed to learn just a little more than I knew to begin with, and with that, said "Ah, screw it." and went down to take the test. It's a web based test, so the proctor logged me onto the computer in the test centre, and I started answer- uhhh... making up answers (yeah that's it). I was most of the way through with reasonable answers when I accidentally click something random, taking me to a blank screen. Took all I had to keep from screaming! Managed to get it back to the test, but all my well formed answers were gone! AAAhhh!! *twitch twitch* So, I managed to retake the thing in about 20 minutes. since it didn't reset my time limit along with my answers. I blame the computer if I get a crappy grade!
On top of that fiasco, I drove downtown after that to drop off some film at the developers. So, I'm waiting at the intersection to turn left. I get an advance light, as does the oncoming left-turning traffic. Well this guy (oncoming, but NOT turning) decides that well, since the guy beside him is going, it would be a good idea for HIM to go too. *Napoleon Dynamite voice* Friggin' IDIOT! It was pretty close. I gave him a "WTF?!" kind of look and he gave me one like I was the one out of line. Anyways, it goes without saying that I am very relieved to be here with all of you fine people today! I suppose that's enough of me rambling isn't it. You're just here for the reward! Here, I made you cookies!

"Tell me all your thoughts on God/
'Cause I'd really like to meet her/ Ask her why we're who we are..." - Dishwalla (Counting Blue Cars)
Another oldie, but a goodie. And sure, that's the first thing I'D ask God. Right after the questions that are on my essay exam for Phil of Rel.! I'm starting to go batty here! I've got nine days. That's enough time to read pretty much my entire textbook and come up with at least three more original thoughts on the subject, isn't it? I guess we'll find out, eh? *sigh* That's the last time I take a class about THAT!
Anyways, I've discovered that poverty balloons are still fun! Oh, sorry, a poverty balloon is a helium balloon that is filled with an amount of helium that is nearly cancelled out by the weight of the string tied to it. We call 'em poverty balloons because our boss claims that helium is expensive and there isn't enough petty cash to cover the cost. Yah right! Haha! So, anyways, You take a black marker and draw a little face on the balloon and then give it a smack so it floats around the store at eye level. I gave mine a little talking bubble that said 'Hi, my name is Steve!' (or something like that.) Every now and then I'd hear somebody crack up and go 'What the heck is that?!' See? Work can be fun! Just don't tell the boss we were using up priceless helium. Bah hah!!

Sorry, my best taglines are in the shop...
Hmmm, well guess I probably should have said that that quote from yesterday was from the song One More Astronaut by I Mother Earth. One of my favourites. Anyways, there's not really much to say today. It's still kind of early and therefore, nothing has happened yet!
I spent a good couple of hours last night working on my main website. Put some new stuff in, took some incriminating stuff out, ya know. The programs all kept shutting down on me! Meh, probably because I had too many programs running at once, not to mention three or four tabs open in Netscape (yes I'm a netscape fan. please don't hurt me!). But it got done. I think. It was late and I was going cross eyed, so we'll see!
Oh, apparantly the war is back on. Those guys will pay for even thinking about destroying Canada! Stupid Gundams. The CFRG will reign supreme! Mwahahah!!
