"The holidays are over, you’ve gained twenty pounds/
The cat’s choking on tinsel, pine needles stalk the ground/
There are no cards in the mailbox, just a stack of bills/
Yes, the holidays are over and you are feeling ill/
Have a happy Christmas hangover/
It’s the most miserable time of the year..." -The Arrogant Worms (Christmas Hangover)
Well... in retrospect... that was probably one of the worst ideas ever. Last night, some friends and I drove up to C-Town (about 2 hours north of where I live) for a Christmas type party. The girl I drove up with had to be at work at 11:00 this morning. So she had to leave there at 6:30am to avoid rush hour traffic. I didn't want her driving through the city and all the way home all alone, so I got up and came home too. But the traffic was ridiculous already! That city is known for having some of the worst drivers in Canada. Not even kidding. But really it was the best thing for me to come home at that time. So, I'm running on maybe an hour or two of sleep myself right now, and I'm surprised I can kind of, sort of type coherently right now.
Anyways, the point of all this is that the party wasn't that great, and the drive there and back was totally not worth it. I had some bits of fun, but nothing special happened that coudln't have happened when those guys come down here for the Christmas holiday. So if anyone ever asks you to drive two hours to go to a Christmas party, the correct answer would be 'no freaking way'. 4 More sleeps...
